Purpose

The study examined the cataloging and classification training of users in library and information science and their use of library catalogs at the Kwara State University Library, Nigeria. Training is a vital necessity for performing any professional responsibility. Therefore, the trainee's actions towards the training program cannot be affected.

Design/methodology/approach

The study adopted a descriptive research approach. It surveyed a sample of 250 university library users selected from a population of 515 through random sampling.

The work surveyed staff discipline in academic libraries in Delta State. It was guided by four objectives of the study. The study adopted the survey design and the population of the study is thirty (30) Heads of the library (the academic Librarian in charge and readers services head) in fifteen academic libraries under study. The study investigated the creativity of librarians as determinant of job performance in some selected polytechnic libraries in Delta State. The study adopted a descriptive survey using questionnaire to collect data. The population of the study consists of 45 librarians. A total of 45 questionnaires were distributed only 33 were retrieved using descriptive statistics, the mean and percentage of the data were calculated. A mean score of 2.5 or above and a percentage score of 50% were taken into consideration. The study investigates information communication technology competence and reference service provision in Federal Universities in North-Central, Nigeria. Reference librarians now provide users with databases that give access to millions of journal articles as well as access to the internet which has holdings of libraries and a limitless variety of formal and informal sources of information. The study has one objective, a research question and one hypothesis. The study adopted total enumeration using a descriptive survey design.
