As researchers seek to find ways to manage and openly share their data in compliance with grant requirements, many libraries have developed new services to support these researchers. In this session, we will discuss some of the different strategies that libraries are using to support data management, as well as the role that the IR may (or may not) play in these programs. Archives are no longer closed departments, hoarding their treasures from the world. Archival staff have had to adapt and take advantage of new technologies to disseminate collections to broader audiences. We will showcase four digitized archival collections from Nova Southeastern University’s Archives:
- A chronology using the third party app, TimelineJS
- An Archives/graduate student collaboration of “Looking Into The Past” photos using geolocational information on Google Maps
- A donated collection of underwater slide photography with digitization and taxonomic identification efforts by staff at the NSU Oceanographic Center Library
- An Oral Histories project using Kaltura Video Platform

The following presentation offer best practices and guidelines on how to prepare your Digital Commons’ descriptive metadata to be harvested and displayed into the Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting (OAI-PMH).
Attendants will learn how to: 1) customize a metadata upload form in Digital Commons to display specific metadata fields, 2) choose the most appropriate schema to display metadata for particular collections, and 3) map the metadata to the appropriate BePress proprietary schema elements that can display correctly into the Open Archives Initiative (OAI) for harvesting purposes.

As newbies to scholarly communications, Autumn Johnson and Sarah Kirkley launched Savannah State’s repository, Tiger Scholar Commons, in 2015. Using the platform Open Repository, they were involved in all aspects of planning, executing, and promoting the repository within a calendar year. Institutional repositories are using third-party products to entice more users and contributors. Most repositories have some sort of integration, even if it is simply embedding a YouTube video. Over the last two years, Zach S. Henderson Library has worked with the Office of Research and Economic Development to provide a robust set of services for their faculty by integrating multiple products. While Zach S.
