3D printing and scanning is new digital horizon for digital asset managers. Many fields have a history of utilizing 3D scanning and printing such as medicine, dentistry, art, entertainment, architecture, and archaeology. Now, many cultural heritage institution are also beginning to explore the unique benefits 3D models and prints can provide to constituents interested in their collections.
