The Effects Of Divorce On Middle-Childhood And Adolescent Cognitive Development, Emma Stewart Heffron
The Effects Of Divorce On Middle-Childhood And Adolescent Cognitive Development, Emma Stewart Heffron
Senior Projects Spring 2022
Divorce is extremely common in the United States, we hold one of the highest divorce rates in the world. With this being said it can be understood that many children are caught in the middle of a divorce. Current research has looked at the difference between low conflict and high conflict divorces and the effects they may have on children, which is shown to only differ slightly. In this paper I will be looking at the effect divorce has on a child depending on their stage in development. By looking at Piaget’s Developmental Stage Theory, I am able to dissect …
The Effects Of D2 Receptor Modulation On Locomotor Development In Danio Rerio, Isaiah Thomas Mcroberts
The Effects Of D2 Receptor Modulation On Locomotor Development In Danio Rerio, Isaiah Thomas Mcroberts
Senior Projects Spring 2022
This study utilized a novel design to investigate the sensitivity of D2 dopamine receptors to modulating compounds through multiple exposures over early development of zebrafish larvae. Zebrafish were dosed for 30 minutes from 5-8 days post fertilization (dpf) with 16µ/mol of either a D2 antagonist, haloperidol, or a D2 agonist, quinpirole hydrochloride. Two other groups were then dosed with these compounds from 9-12dpf. The effects of D2 receptor modulation were measured by analyzing motor activity on measures of movement distance, frequency, and velocity. Results indicated that larvae dosed with haloperidol on 5dpf had increased activity after the first dosage, but …
A Bilingual Advantage For Children With Autism: Effect Of A Bilingual Education On Set Shifting In Children With Autism Spectrum Disorder, Chandler Flannery O'Reardon
A Bilingual Advantage For Children With Autism: Effect Of A Bilingual Education On Set Shifting In Children With Autism Spectrum Disorder, Chandler Flannery O'Reardon
Senior Projects Spring 2021
The proposed study will examine the effect of an early bilingual school environment on the set shifting abilities of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). More specifically, it will evaluate how an English-French bilingual education program affects the set shifting abilities of children with ASD compared to a monolingual English education program. Set shifting will be measured by the Dimensional Change Card Sort (DCCS) task both before and after the respective education programs. I hypothesize that there will be a main effect of both time point and education program on set shifting abilities such that (a) set shifting abilities will …
The Effect Of Remittances On Ethnic Tension, Suyog Shrestha
The Effect Of Remittances On Ethnic Tension, Suyog Shrestha
Senior Projects Spring 2021
With the massive increase in global remittances in the recent decades, migration study has gained a lot of attention from scholars in social sciences. In particular, the effect of remittances on various socio-economic variables have been studied. Furthering this literature, we study the effects of remittances on ethnic tension. Using the Ordinary Least Squares with Panel-Corrected Standard Errors, we find that i) remittances has less impact on ethnic tension in countries with lower variance of ethnic tension than those with higher variance ii) remittances increases ethnic tension in countries that already have higher ethnic tension than the global mean, whereas …

Postcolonial Exploitation Through Economic Development Tools: A Case Study On France And The Ivory Coast, Keshav R. Prabhu-Schlosser
Postcolonial Exploitation Through Economic Development Tools: A Case Study On France And The Ivory Coast, Keshav R. Prabhu-Schlosser

Abstract: French monetary control over their colonies in Africa did not decrease after decolonization. Instead, the monetary union, the CFA Franc Zone set the stage for French domination of West Africa for decades to come through their control of pricing and exchange rates. This dominion causes repeated economic downturns, which the governments of the CFA countries are unable to counteract due to the monetary and fiscal restrictions placed upon them through the currency union. These downturns are only offset by repeated injections of capital, which can only come from abroad. In a case study of France and the Ivory Coast, …

Establishing An Effective Interest Rate In Latin America’S Microfinance Sector: A Comparative Analysis Between Mexico And Peru, Dylan Kevin Frawley
Senior Projects Spring 2019
Microfinance is defined as small scale loans designed for less fortunate citizens. Ever since its creation, an economic development tactic that was hoped to greatly benefit developing economies, has been under much scrutiny. Why is this supposed poverty alleviating lending tool under such scrutiny? Well a quick outlook on Compartamos Banco profit statistics along with knowing that their loan default rate is near one percent is a good place to start. Latin America has taken Yunus’s social welfare Microfinance model and turned it into a profit generating giant with an interest income of 74.7% in the Mexican Microfinance sector. Although …
