This study aims to examine the effectiveness of disaster communication media in improving disaster mitigation literacy for the community in Pengaron District, Banjar Regency. This study is a quantitative research and uses an experimental type. Data collection techniques used pre-test and post-test questionnaires, observation and documentation. Respondents in this study were people who were affected by floods in January 2022 in Pengaron, Banjar Regency. Supporting informants are BNPB as an institution involved in flood disaster management.

Often, we receive a tempting loan or financial offers from SMS e-mails. The offers would be more tempting and the messages are well-equipped with persuasive messages, when people need financial help. Such messages are also received by people with visual impairment and would require a certain information literacy capability for them to choose and filter these offers. This study investigated newspaper representation of women in the news. A total of four newspapers were studied. They are Vanguard, The Punch, The Guardian and ThisDay. The duration for the study was three years (January 1st, 2015 to December 31st, 2017). The study was guided by three objectives and two hypotheses. Content analysis was used for the study with the code sheet as the instrument for data collection. The career of an athlete may shape the narrative that the media uses when writing articles on that player when they retire. Many people fail to understand how the media constructs articles the way they do on Major League Baseball (MLB) players upon retirement. This research study used a mixed method approach to show how the media covers certain professional MLB players when they retire. The researcher counted how many times chosen variables were mentioned in two different articles of sixteen retired MLB players, and then extracted quotes from those articles. Recent improvements in effectiveness and accuracy of the emerging field of automated deception detection and the associated potential of language technologies have triggered increased interest in mass media and general public. Computational tools capable of alerting users to potentially deceptive content in computer–mediated messages are invaluable for supporting undisrupted, computer–mediated communication and information practices, credibility assessment and decision–making. The goal of this ongoing research is to inform creation of such automated capabilities. In this study we elicit a sample of 90 computer–mediated personal stories with varying levels of deception. Streaming video is becoming the preferred means of viewing video for consumers, but physical formats do continue to offer libraries certain advantages: greater variety of choice for patrons at a lower cost. Many academic libraries have invested heavily in DVD collections, and these videos may be housed in closed stacks that satisfy some stakeholders but that discourage use and do not meet student needs or expectations. This article provides a framework for deciding whether or not to open up a closed collection, and uses the author’s library’s closed-stack collection as a case study.

This study is an exploration of identity politics through an examination of the ways in which musical artists use the medium of music videos to create marketable, hybrid identities. With the rise of social media and the online consumption of information, music videos play a central role in global, cultural flows. I argue that hybrid identities are constructed by musical artists to gain popularity through the form of ethno-marketing. I include literature surrounding diaspora and hybridity to understand how hybrid identities become a production of heritage and human capital.
