Print Propaganda Art in World War II America World War II started in Europe with Germany’s invasion of Poland on September 1st 1939. Many major countries around the globe were involved in the Second World War. The major Axis Powers were Germany, Japan, and Italy. The major Allied Powers, on the other hand, were Great Britain and France, joined by the Soviet Union in June 1941.
