A Look At The Protestant Church In The City, David J. Hauman

Honors Projects

It is the purpose of this study to explore some of the numerous facets of the church in the city and more especially the inner-city. Trite, though it may be, it should be stated that it would be utterly impossible to cover every aspect of this problem. Instead, the author wishes only to touch on a few chosen subjects in hopes that this will spark interested readers to further investigation. The magnitude of the problem is immense and could not possibly be covered in one paper, or in one volume.

Animal Sociology, Joan Shambrook Weer Jan 1966

Animal Sociology, Joan Shambrook Weer

Honors Projects

However, this subject did not receive any serious attention from scientists until the middle of the nineteenth century, when Darwin'devoted part of his attention to the theory that the adaptation of an animal is largely accomplished through its behavior.

An Examination Of The Phenomenon Of Preference For Bar Pressong Over Freeloading, Phyllis Thomson

Honors Projects

Since the discovery of the law of effect, psychologists have been investigating a number of the parameters of reinforcing stimuli. The law of effect states that a response is learned, or not learned, depending upon the events (effects) that follow it. To evaluate the aspects of reinforcing stimuli. typically an organism is deprived of food or water and an increase in the probability or speed of a response is noted when small amounts of food or water are made to follow a response. Using this type of paradigm, characteristics of reinforcing stimuli which have been investigated are number of reinforcers, …

It has plants, offices, and parts depots in twenty-two places in nine teen different congressional districts; and the Company also has many

The Reference Groups For Educational Achievement Among Culturally Deprived Junior High School Students: A Theoretical Discussion And Preliminary Data Review, Theodore L. Reed

Honors Papers

As introduction we have chosen to focus primarily on two issues encountered in the definition of the scope of the study. In chapter one the contributions and limitations of theory and research in the field of social stratification are reviewed. The synthesis of this chapter leads to a more general discussion of assumptions in the second part of the introduction. The postulates which are reviewed define both the philosophical biases and the level of generalization at which conclusions may be accepted.

In the second and major part of the thesis we dissect the theory behind each of the major variables …
