This study focused on the role of information in the activities of non- academic staff unions (NASU/SSANU) in the University of Nigeria, Enugu campus. It analyzed the invaluable contribution of appropriate information dissemination to the achievement of the objectives of the labour Unions. The population of the study consisted of all the members of NASU/ SSANU working at the Enugu Campus of the University. However, a random sample involving the use of ninety copies of the questionnaire was conducted. The purpose of the study is to evaluate library schools’ curricula in Nigeria with the aim of identifying a practical course on computer literacy to solve the problem of lack of ICT staff as noted by several studies conducted on the African continent. The study covered 30 universities offering Library and Information Science. The main instrument for data collection was analysis of departmental documents containing the LIS curriculum. Job performance consists of a set of employees’ behaviours that are perceived to be in agreement with organizational goals that can be measured, monitored and assessed as an achievement at an individual level. The librarian’s job performance is that aspect of work behaviour that is of relevance to the library’s success. This paper presents findings from a self-rating questionnaire on the levels of job performance of librarians in universities in one region of Nigeria. Abstract

This work is an attempt at theoretical modelling. The result of a search for a theoretical framework and a conceptual model to explain lecturers’ use of Educational Support Systems (ESS) for teaching in university-based library schools in Nigeria. The applicability, similarity and relevance of Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA), Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB) and the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) were discussed.
