Purpose: This paper identifies ICT tools and programmes that are relevant to Igbo studies in tertiary institutions in the South East Nigeria; it examines the opportunities and challenges in applying these technologies in the enhancement and promotion of teaching and learning Igbo in Nigeria universities.

Methodology/Approach: Questionnaire, interviews, and observations were used in collecting data for this study. The population was 118, comprising 31 lecturers and 87 students randomly drawn from the Department of Igbo Studies in six selected tertiary institutions in the South East Nigeria.

The purpose of this paper was to highlight the role of libraries in the provision of information towards the attainment of the United Nation Millennium Development Goals (MDGS) in Nigeria. With the methodology of simple literature review, the paper made efforts to review related literature on libraries’ role in the provision of information for development. The relationship between libraries and the Millennium Development Goals was also discussed. Suggestions were proffered on ways libraries can contribute to the achievement of the MDGs. The challenges faced by libraries were also highlighted. Based on the review of literature, the paper provided some recommendations.

This study investigated the strategies of curbing deterioration of library materials: A case study of long essay preservation in selected Colleges of Education libraries in Southern Nigeria. Abstract

This study investigates rural women’s use of indigenous knowledge in Nigeria, with particular reference to the Isoko ethnic nationality of Delta State. The survey research design was adopted for the study. A questionnaire was designed to collect data from women located in ten rural communities of Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State that constitute the sample size for this study. Analyses were carried out using frequencies and percentage distributions. Findings reveal an extensive wealth and use of indigenous knowledge in agriculture, health care, child delivery, economic and child care. The study also reveals that majority of rural …
