Deficit Financing In Lcds: Evidence From South Asia, Muhammad K. Chowdhury

Fiscal policy triggers three distinct effects on the economy such as (1) interest rate effect (2) price effect and (3) exchange rate effect. A VAR system was developed to capture these effects in jive South Asian countries. Empirical results suggest that budgetary action does not have any perceptible influence ·on the interest rate of the sampled countries. In terms of the price effect, fiscal action has opposite effects in Bangladesh and India. Fiscal action tends to increase aggregate price level in India but reduces the price level in Bangladesh, although the magnitude is very small. For Pakistan the price effect …

The organizational theory literature suggests that organisations should adapt to highly competitive business environments by strategically replacing or transforming the traditional with more innovative forms of organising. These innovative and more flexible forms of organizing are often portrayed as dichotomous and antithetical. Recent research by Pettigrew, Fenton, Palmer, DiMaggio and others discovered that one of the emergent themes in contemporary firms is that they engage in apparently contradictory practice, where the ‘old’ and the ‘new’ changes are practiced simultaneously. Much of the literature on research design has focussed on research conducted in developed, uni-cultural or primarily English speaking countries. Studies of qualitative case study research, the challenges and prospects, have been embedded in Western/Euro-centric society and social theories. Although there have been some theoretical studies, few empirical studies have been conducted to explore the nature of the challenges of qualitative case study in Africa and Asia.
