Nostalgia tourism is very important for the state of Oaxaca, Mexico. In San Juan Bautista Coixtlahuaca, a community in the Mixteca region of Oaxaca, nostalgia tourism, along with remittances, strengthens economic activities, consumption, and household well-being. However, the annual average stay of visitors to the region is low and not enough to sustain local development.
