In 2015, the Libraries began scanning theses and dissertations that were housed in our offsite storage facility. Many of these were single copies that were not held by any other library in the world, so we have insured their long term preservation in both print and electronic forms. We began scanning theses and dissertations in a then-cramped Gunnin Architecture Library, and are now scanning theses and dissertations housed in Cooper. Clemson University and the U.S. National Park Service (NPS) have collaborated since 2010 to develop the Open Parks Network, an open repository of over 230,000 digital objects and metadata records chronicling the diverse cultural and natural history of our nation’s parks, historic sites, and other protected areas.
