Mistbox Technology Created By Cedarville Engineers, Mark D. Weinstein

News Releases

In just one year, a pair of Cedarville University alumni have seen their startup company reach new heights. Andrew Parks and Josh Teekell, 2007 mechanical engineering graduates and developers of Mistbox, signed an agreement with Lowe’s that allows the home improvement stores to sell their product — a device that makes air conditioners more efficient.

The Mistbox attaches to central air conditioning units and cools the outside air temperature before it enters the air conditioning unit. This process helps consumers save up to 30 percent on cooling costs, while also reducing its carbon footprint.

This study tests a model that combines relationship management theory and the theory of reasoned action. Through the collection of quantitative and qualitative data, this study provides deeper understanding of the relationship between community college students and the institution, and identifies aspects of the relationship that most influence behavioral intention to give to the institution. Using this information, public relations practitioners will be able to strategically improve areas of deficiency in the community college-student relationship, thereby increasing the likelihood that today’s students will become tomorrow’s philanthropic alumni.
