The road along which sites 41CP228 and 229 occur is F.M. 1520 (Fig. 1 and Fig. 2), with the limits of improvements to it being from 0.8 mi. north of Loop 179 to 0.7 mi. north of Walkers Creek--a length of approximately 1.25 miles. This is a particularly dangerous stretch of roadway with curves at Walkers Creek and its tributary to the north. Along this stretch in recent years several people have died in automobile accidents, most recently during the course of the fieldwork in September, 1996.
