Fisheries research reports

This document provides a cumulative description and assessment of the TDER and all of the fishing activities (i.e. fisheries / fishing sectors) affecting this resource in WA. Future Resource Assessment Reports will assess the Statewide Sharks and Rays Resource. The report is focused on the temperate indicator species (whiskery, gummy, dusky and sandbar sharks) used to assess the suites of demersal sharks and rays that comprise this resource. These species are primarily captured by demersal gillnets used in the TDGDLF that operate in the West Coast and South Coast Bioregions. For the North Coast bioregion, no commercial fishing for sharks …

The Economic Impact Of Recreational Fishing In Western Australia., R. K. Linchner

Fisheries management papers

The Minister for Fisheries commissioned Economic Research Associates to carry out a study of the economic impact of recreational fishing in Western Australia. Two surveys were conducted to determine how much recreational fishers spend during the year on goods and services in order to go fishing. One involved telephone interviews of 401 recreational fishers, who were selected from a stratified random sample of households in five major regions of the state. The other survey employed a self enumeration questionnaire sent to randomly selected licensed recreational fishers, as well as being made available on non-random self-selection basis through fishing clubs and …

A Survey Using 14n:15n Natural Abundance Of The N Fixation By Pasture Legumes In The Field And Of Factors Affecting Fixation, P. Sanford

Experimental Summaries - Plant Research

Trial 89AL43, 90AL50, 90KO16

A preliminary survey using 14N:15N natural abundance to assess N2 fixation by pasture legumes in the field.

Location: Albany.

1. Develop a sampling methodology for the 1990 farm survey.
2. An initial assessment of nitrogen fixation by pasture legumes in the field.

Trial 90MT70

Using 14N:15N natural abundance to assess N2-fixation by subterranean clover.

Location Mount Barker Research Station

To examine symbiotic nitrogen fixation by subterranean clover, in detail, through one season in a productive pasture. To better assess the point in the season at which as one time sampling would most accurately determine the proportion …
