The goals of green chemistry are to reduce or eliminate the use of hazardous reagents, prevent the synthesis of toxic products and byproducts, and improve the overall efficiency of chemical reactions. Green chemistry is incredibly important today as chemical products are produced and used around the world, resulting in the use and generation of hazardous chemicals, and unintended consequences to human health and the environment.
