Dielectric Behaviour Of Polyurethane Coatings Derived From Palm Oil Oleic Acid-Based Polyols -A Renewable Resource, Wan Haliza Binti Abd Majid
Wan Haliza binti Abd Majid
Dielectric relaxation spectroscopy (frequency range from 100Hz to 40 MHz) was used to examine molecular motion in polyurethane (PUR) derived from palm oil oleic acid-based polyols at room temperature. PUR was prepared by varying the oleic acid content in the polyol (28°c, 40°c and 65°c), while the NCO/OH ratio of PUR was varied to 1.2, 1.4 and 1.6. The effect of chemical contribution on dielectric behaviour of the samples was described. Dielectric parameters were in the range of 2.0 to 3.0 for real permittivity and 0.02 to 0.08 for imaginary permittivity, s". A Cole-Cole plot was fitted using the Havriliak-Negami …

Structural, Optical And Electrical Properties Of Europium Picrate Tetraethylene Glycol Complex As Emissive Material For Oled, Wan Haliza Abd Majid

A new europium complex [Eu(Pic) 2(H 2O)(EO4)](Pic) ·0.75H 2O was synthesized and used as the emission material for the single layer device structure of ITO/EO4EuPic/Al, using a spin-coating technique. Study on the optical properties of the [Eu(Pic) 2(H 2O)(EO4)](Pic)·0.75H 2O complex where EO4=tetraethylene glycol and Pic=picrate anion, had to be undertaken before being applicable to the study of an organic light emitting diode (OLED). The electrical property of an OLED using currentvoltage (IV) measurement was also studied. In complex, the Eu(III) ion was coordinated with the EO4 ligand as a pentadentate mode, one water molecule, and with two Pic anions …

Synthesis, Magnetic Properties And X-Ray Analysis Of Zn0.97x0.03o Nanoparticles (X = Mn, Ni, And Co) Using Scherrer And Size-Strain Plot Methods, Wan Haliza Abd Majid

Un-doped and doped ZnO nanoparticles (Zn0.97X0.03O-NPs, X = Mn, Co, and Ni) were synthesized from a metal acetate precursor and acetic acid by a modified sol gel combustion method. The compounds were synthesized at calcination temperatures of 650 degrees C for 1 h. The synthesized un-doped/doped ZnO-NPs were characterized by X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD) and high-magnification transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The XRD results revealed that the sample product was crystalline with a hexagonal wurtzite phase. The TEM showed ZnO-NPs nearly spherical shapes and a non-uniform shape for doped ZnO-NPs. The crystalline development in the ZnO-NPs was investigated by X-ray peak …

Theoretical And Experimental Approach On Dielectric Properties Of Zno Nanoparticles And Polyurethane/Zno Nanocomposites, Wan Haliza Binti Abd Majid
Wan Haliza binti Abd Majid
ZnO nanoparticles (ZnO-NPs) were synthesized by a new, simple sol-gel method in gelatin media (particle size of ZnO ≈ 30 to 60 nm). Polyurethane/ZnO nanocomposites thin films (PU/ZnO-NPs) were prepared by mixing the ZnO-NPs into PU prepolymer. The nanocomposites were structurally characterized using Fourier transmission infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. The interaction between ZnO-NPs and PU matrix is studied by analyzing the differences in C=O region and N-H region of FTIR spectra. The morphology of ZnO and PU/ZnO nanocomposites were assessed using transmission electron micrograph, TEM, and field emission scanning electron microscope, FESEM, respectively. The dielectric properties of ZnO-NPs were attributed to …
Dna Strand Patterns On Aluminium Thin Films, Wan Haliza Binti Abd Majid
Dna Strand Patterns On Aluminium Thin Films, Wan Haliza Binti Abd Majid
Wan Haliza binti Abd Majid
A new patterning method using Deoxyribose Nucleic Acid (DNA) strands capable of producing nanogaps of less than 100 nm is proposed and investigated in this work. DNA strands from Bosenbergia rotunda were used as the fundamental element in patterning DNA on thin films of aluminium (Al) metal without the need for any lithographic techniques. The DNA strands were applied in buffer solutions onto thin films of Al on silicon (Si) and the chemical interactions between the DNA strands and Al creates nanometer scale arbitrary patterning by direct transfer of the DNA strands onto the substrate. This simple and cost-effective method …
