To retrieve music, it is important to find a similarity between the input query and the matching music. While the first focus of cybersecurity is security, you must also understand the language of computers to know how to secure them. We investigate the punctuation prediction for the Vietnamese language. This problem is crucial as it can be used to add suitable punctuation marks to machine-transcribed speeches, which usually do not have such information. Similar to previous works for English and Chinese languages, we formulate this task as a sequence labeling problem. After that, we apply the conditional random field model for solving the problem and propose a set of appropriate features that are useful for prediction. Moreover, we build two corpora from Vietnamese online news and movie subtitles and perform extensive experiments on these data. Finally, we ask four volunteers …

The team-taught course will include two Reacting to the Past games: (1) Building the Italian Renaissance: Brunelleschi's Dome & the Florence Cathedral and (2) The Trial of Galileo: Aristotelianism, the "New Cosmology," and the Catholic Church, 1616-1633. Augkit is an augmented drum set system designed for live performance. Augkit consists of a drum kit, microphone, audio interface, MIDI pad controller with foot switches, set of speakers, and a computer. I designed the processing audio engine in the visual programming language Max. Max processes the audio signal in a variety of ways that include delays, flanger, reverb, and synthesis that depend on the frequency content of the signal. Extensive research has found that there are differences in reported levels of fear of crime and associated protective actions influenced by socio-demographic characteristics such as race and gender. Further studies, the majority of which focused on violent and property crime, have found that specific demographic characteristics influence fear of crime and protective behaviors. However, little research has focused on the influence of socio-demographic characteristics on perceptions, and protective actions in response to the threat of terrorism. Purdue provides many activities in service-learning each year, and though they are varied experiences, many of the same lessons can be learned. I had the opportunity to participate in two service-learning study abroad trips while at Purdue- the first to Spain and Morocco, and the second to Haiti. The corpus stems from a vast collection of archival materials held by the Moravian Church in the UK, Germany, and the US. We discuss the mathematics behind the Pan’s flute. We analyze how the sound is created, the relationship between the notes that the pipes produce, their frequencies and the length of the pipes. We find an equation which models the curve that appears at the bottom of any Pan’s flute due to the different pipe lengths.

Between 1500 and 1850, Native Americans, Europeans, and enslaved African Americans competed for territory within the landscape of the lower Arkansas Valley. The complex transitional environment between delta bottomlands, interior highlands, and Great Plains fostered the co-existence of competing Native and Euro-American claims to regional sovereignty and settlement well into the nineteenth century. The geopolitical divides often hinged on debates over environmental resources and scientific practices. Our oceans are intimately related to the climate of our planet. Paleoceanographic approaches aim to study oceans through geologic time to improve models of future climate. Radioisotopes provide us with chemical tracers that help us understand change through time. The uraniumseries decay chain contains thorium-230, a decay product of uranium-234. This isotope is useful to paleoceanographers in its disequilibrium to its parent isotope and in determining the flux of sediment falling to the ocean floor. In order to use 230Th to study oceans, we must be able to accurately measure the amount of thorium in sediment samples. Thorium is found …
