Introduction: In the world today, concussions are a major health risk in sports and many other physically demanding activities. Every day, we see former athletes who have experienced multiple concussions complain of cognitive impairment and memory loss. This presentation examines the relationship between vitamin D status and anaerobic performance; determines if the temporary deficiency that occurs during the late fall and winter months is associated with decreased anaerobic performance; and examines the efficacy of 2000 IU vitamin D3 daily supplementation to maintain and/or improve vitamin D status in female young adults.
