Radiodensitometric Evaluation Of The Effect Of Low Energy Laser Irradiation With And Without Anioxidant Therapy On Immediately Loaded Implant Supported Overdenture, Fardos N. Rizk, Mouchira Salah Eldin Prof.
Dentistry
objective: The purpose of this study is to compare the bone height and density around immediately loaded implants placed in the canine area supporting a mandibular overdenture in four different groups. The first group received low level laser therapy and antioxidants. The second group received antioxidants only. The third group received low level laser therapy only. The fourth group (control group) received no therapy. materials and methods: Following one stage surgical protocol twenty four implants were inserted bilaterally in the canine region to support mandibular overdentures for twelve completely edentulous patients in the form of two implants per patient. Patients …
In Vivo Measurement Of Color Relationships Between The Maxillary Central Incisor And Canine As A Function Of Age, Marie E. Falcone
In Vivo Measurement Of Color Relationships Between The Maxillary Central Incisor And Canine As A Function Of Age, Marie E. Falcone
Master's Theses
Abstract
Introduction
It has long been taught that the basic shade (hue) of the patient can be taken from the canine (i.e. that tooth thought to have the highest chroma of a particular hue) and then that hue can be applied to other anterior teeth but at a lower chroma. However, this concept does not appear to derive from published measurements or observations. This study documented the color relationship between in vivo maxillary central incisors and canines to examine: (1) whether they share the same hue, but have different chromas (as commonly taught); and, (2) whether color differences (∆E values) …
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy For Promoting Osseointegration Around Dental Implants In Heavy Smokers, Fardos N. Rizk, Nasser Shaheen
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy For Promoting Osseointegration Around Dental Implants In Heavy Smokers, Fardos N. Rizk, Nasser Shaheen
Dentistry
Objective: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) therapy on osseointegration of implants supporting mandibular overdenture in heavy smokers. Materials and Methods: Following two stage surgical protocol twelve completely edentulous male heavy smokers received implants placed bilaterally in the canine region to support mandibular overdenture. On the second day after the surgery patients were divided randomly into two equal groups. Patients of group I were placed on a protocol of five consecutive sessions of HBO therapy, while patients of group II received no therapy and served as control. Four months following the surgery …
Evaluating Dimensional Accuracy And Reliability Of "Stitched" Small Field Of View (Ssfov) Cone Beam Computed Tomography (Cbct) Datasets For Use In Proprietary Dental Implant Guided Surgery Software, Nicholas Luke Egbert
Evaluating Dimensional Accuracy And Reliability Of "Stitched" Small Field Of View (Ssfov) Cone Beam Computed Tomography (Cbct) Datasets For Use In Proprietary Dental Implant Guided Surgery Software, Nicholas Luke Egbert
Theses and Dissertations (ETD)
Background: Recently a "stitched" small field of view (SSFOV) cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) extraoral imaging system (Kodak 9000D, Carestream Health Inc, Kodak Dental Systems, Marne‑la‑Vallee, France) has been released. The benefits of the 3D stitching module of stitched SFOV CBCT may include: broader range of applications, affordability, flexibility, safety optimizing radiation dose and improved workflow. With the reduced effective dose of radiation and cost to both the patient and clinician, this superior imaging modality becomes more accessible to the community, potentially elevating the standard of care. Currently, stitched data sets are restricted to diagnostic data gathering only. To date, …
Eccentric Interchangeability Of The Semi‑Adjustable Articulator: A Pilot Study, Mark James Hopkins
Eccentric Interchangeability Of The Semi‑Adjustable Articulator: A Pilot Study, Mark James Hopkins
Theses and Dissertations (ETD)
Background: Dental articulation is a method of approximating the patient's mandibular motion in order to allow for analysis of dental relations and fabrication of appliances. The most prevalent method used in teaching institutions is the semi-adjustable articulator. Several of these instruments claim interchangeability without loss of clinical accuracy and studies have supported this claim. No studies to date have assessed the interchangeability of the articulators in any relation other than hinge axis closure. Assessment of the accuracy of interchangeability of calibrated articulators will inform the profession of this parameter of articulation and allow for informed decisions on whether or not …
Tomographic Assessment Of Different Attachment Sizes In Implant Supported Overdenture, Fardos N. Rizk, Marwa Sabet, Wael Amer
Tomographic Assessment Of Different Attachment Sizes In Implant Supported Overdenture, Fardos N. Rizk, Marwa Sabet, Wael Amer
Dentistry
objective: This research was carried to evaluate which ball size mounted on bar splinting two implants supporting overdenture is more favorable regarding bone height and density. material &methods: Two implants(Tut Dental Implant System,ECDI Cairo, Egypt) splinted by bar (OT bar Multiuse attachments,Cas,RHEIN 83, ITALY) carrying two balls (OT Cap attachments, Cas, RHEIN 83 Italy) were inserted in n=10/gp. Patients were divided into two groups according to the size of the balls used which were either micro1.8mm or macro 2.5mm (control group). For all patients overdentures were constructed & conventional tomograms were taken. Crestal bone height & density around the implants …

The Effect Of Two Different Implant Systems On Bony Changes In Mandibular Implant Supported Overdenture, Fardos N. Rizk, Eatmad Elrekaby, Azza Farahat

objective: This study was conducted to evaluate the bone changes that may occur around Legacy I implants and NanoTite Tapered implants supporting mandibular overdentures utilizing cone beam computed tomography (CBCT). materials and methods: Fourteen completely edentulous male patients were randomly divided into two equal groups. Group I: Each patient received two Legacy I implants. Group II: Each patient received two NanoTite Tapered Implants. All implants were inserted bilaterally in the mandibular canine region. For all patients conventional complete dentures were constructed before implants placement. After complete osseointegration of implants, dome shaped healing collars were screwed to the implants upon which …
