Aesthetic Management Of Peri-Implant Soft Tissue Dehiscence. A Case Report Of A Combined Perio Restorative Approach, Ahmed Hamdy, Dalia M. Ghalwash

Dentistry

This case report designates a combined perio restorative technique in the management of peri-implant 3-dimensional soft tissue defects in an esthetic zone. A staged approach was implemented to treat this case; the first stage was planned to treat the horizontal defect around the implant, in which crown was removed, and coronally advanced flap with connective tissue graft were used to treat the soft tissue defect. At the second stage, a modified coronally advanced flap with connective tissue graft was used to augment the vertical defect, and no vertical releasing incision was made in this stage to maximize the blood supply …

Comorbidity Of Hypertension And Chronic Renal Failure And Their Impact On Oral Complications: A Cross-Sectional Study., Dalia Ghalwash, Sara Abdelwahed, Asmaa Abobakr Jan 2023

Comorbidity Of Hypertension And Chronic Renal Failure And Their Impact On Oral Complications: A Cross-Sectional Study., Dalia Ghalwash, Sara Abdelwahed, Asmaa Abobakr

Dentistry

The present study aimed to investigate the influence of both end-stage renal diseases (ESRD) and hypertension (HTN) on the various oral manifestations and periodontal condition, to evaluate and compare the oral manifestations and periodontal health status in hypertensive patients with ESRD versus control, and to explore any possible correlation of the oral findings with systemic disease status. This was a cross-sectional study which included two equal groups of patients, Group I were hypertensive patients with ESRD and Group II were hypertensive patients only. All patients were hypertensive and were on antihypertensive medications. Regarding the incidence of oral lesions in both …

The Frequency Of Periodontitis In End‑Stage Renal Disease On Hemodialysis In A Sample Of Egyptian Population: Multi‑Center Clinical Cross‑Sectional Study, Enji Ahmed Mahmoud, Asmaa Abobakr, Eman Khalil, Radwa Raghib Jan 2022

The Frequency Of Periodontitis In End‑Stage Renal Disease On Hemodialysis In A Sample Of Egyptian Population: Multi‑Center Clinical Cross‑Sectional Study, Enji Ahmed Mahmoud, Asmaa Abobakr, Eman Khalil, Radwa Raghib

Background: There is a general assumption that periodontal disease is highly prevalent among patients with chronic renal failure undergoing hemodialysis. The aim of the study to estimate the frequency of periodontitis in patients on hemodialysis among a sample of the Egyptian population, as well as the correlation between different clinical parameters of periodontal status with serum creatinine and blood urea. This may rule out the bidirectional relationship between periodontitis and renal failure in patients on hemodialysis. Methods: The study was conducted on 263 hemodialysis patients (165 males and 98 females) at three dialysis centers in Benha Governorate, Egypt (Benha Hospital, …

Objectives. This study aimed to clinically assess and compare the width of peri-implant keratinized mucosa following the use of a readymade plastic stent with apically repositioned flap versus conventional apically repositioned flap with papillary sparing incisions during single-stage implant placement protocol. Materials and Methods. A total of 20 patients were enrolled in this study. In the test group, a prefabricated implant-retained stent was clipped on the healing abutment after implant surgery to reposition the keratinized tissue buccoapically. In the control group, simple interrupted sutures were applied instead of using a stent. After the surgical procedure, the width of …

Effect Of Locally Delivered Melatonin As An Adjunct To Nonsurgical Therapy On Gcf Antioxidant Capacity And Mmp-9 In Stage Ii Periodontitis Patients: A Randomized Controlled Clinical Trial, Enji Ahmed Mahmoud, Olfat Gamil Shaker, Nermin Youssif, Dalia Mohey-Eldien Ghalwash Jan 2021

Dentistry

Objectives. Periodontitis is characterized by inflammatory destruction of periodontal tissue, loss of attachment, and bone resorption. +e increase in reactive oxygen species (ROS) is responsible for the oxidative damage occurring in periodontal tissues. Melatonin has important immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory, and powerful antioxidant functions. +e current study was carried out to evaluate the effect of topical melatonin gel as an adjunct to nonsurgical periodontal therapy. Methods. +is splitmouth randomized controlled clinical trial was performed on 24 patients with grade II periodontitis. Two sites in each patient were randomly assigned; test sites were treated by nonsurgical therapy followed by intrapocket application of 5% …

Radiographic Evaluation Of Bone And Mucosa Using Low-Dose Cbct With Radiopaque X-Resin Stent Versus Ct And Ridge Mapping: A Validity Study, Enji Ahmed, Nader Nabil Riskallah, Mushira Muhammed Dahaba, Eman Abdelaziz Ahmed Dec 2020

Radiographic Evaluation Of Bone And Mucosa Using Low-Dose Cbct With Radiopaque X-Resin Stent Versus Ct And Ridge Mapping: A Validity Study, Enji Ahmed, Nader Nabil Riskallah, Mushira Muhammed Dahaba, Eman Abdelaziz Ahmed

Dentistry

Aim: To compare the abilities of computed tomography (CT), cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) with X-resin and ridge mapping and to measure the thickness of bone and soft tissue during implant planning, which allows increasing the success criteria of implant placement. Materials and Methods: This validity study included a total of 96 samples chosen from 20 patients undergoing implant surgeries (mandible and maxilla) aged between 25 and 50 years. Measurements of bone and mucosa were done by using three techniques, which are the CT, CBCT with X-resin, and finally ridge mapping at 4 points that are 3, 4, 5, and …
