Purpose: To assess the efficacy of various machine learning (ML) algorithms in predicting late-stage colorectal cancer (CRC) diagnoses against the backdrop of socio-economic and regional healthcare disparities. Methods: An innovative theoretical framework was developed to integrate individual- and census tract-level social determinants of health (SDOH) with sociodemographic factors. A comparative analysis of the ML models was conducted using key performance metrics such as AUC-ROC to evaluate their predictive accuracy. Spatio-temporal analysis was used to identify disparities in late-stage CRC diagnosis probabilities. Mpox emerged as a public health crisis with limited research describing co-occurring HIV and sexually transmitted infections (STIs). We present a case of severe proctitis secondary to Mpox with concomitant HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus), syphilis, HSV (Herpes Simplex Virus), and chlamydia and review presentation, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of Mpox with concurrent STIs.

Background: Coronary artery vasospasm (CAV) is transient spasm of a coronary artery that can lead to cardiac ischemia. We present a case with left main (LM) CAV identified on electrocardiogram (ECG) and cardiac catheterization resulting in appropriate therapy.

Case: A 52 year old female with months of spontaneously resolving episodic neck pain, flushing, and diaphoresis presented to the emergency department after a resuscitated cardiac arrest. Ludwig's angina is a rare and life threatening cellulitic infection, first described by German physician, Wilhelm Frederick Von Ludwig in 1836, as a gangrenous infection of the soft tissue floor of the mouth and neck. The potential to spread rapidly to contiguous tissues surrounding the upper airways, notably the glottis, resulted in Ludwig's angina carrying a high mortality rate near 50% in the pre- antibiotic era. It necessitates rapid detection and management to assure respiratory compromise does not occur. This case study is novel as it illustrates handheld bedside POCUS utilization in diagnosing Ludwig’s Angina.

We report a case of a 18 year old male who presented via EMS who was called for an unconscious male in his car diagnosed initially with opioid overdose and later found to have carbon monoxide poisoning. The differential diagnosis of carbon monoxide poisoning is someone broad and non specific, but in general, carbon monoxide poisoning can be initially elusive in diagnosis and requires continued consideration. This remains true especially in this case of an unconscious male with initial responsiveness to naloxone. While several delirium predictive models have been developed, only a handful have focused on electronic health record (EHR) data. This prospective cohort study of older inpatients (≥ 65 years old) aimed to determine if variables within our health system’s EHR could be used to identify delirium among hospitalized patients at the bedside. Biopsy of the lip is a procedure most used by dermatologists in order to obtain histopathological evaluation of a lesion. It has remained the definitive method of diagnosis for many pathologies, including malignancy. However, although the incidence of lip malignancy has been relatively unchanged since 2012, the number of lip biopsies performed has not followed the same trend, but rather steeply declined since. In this study, the national trends in lip biopsies are evaluated. The Medicare Provider Utilization and Payment (MPUP) database was used to evaluate these practice trends in Medicare providers.

Spinal cord infarction (SCI) is rare and most often occurs in individuals with predisposing cardiovascular risk factors and traumatic injuries

As there are no distinct diagnostic criteria for SCI, diagnosis is difficult in patients presenting without predisposing factors and is often mistaken for transverse myelitis.

Delay in early diagnosis contributes to the high case fatality rate of SCI.

This case highlights the importance of including SCI in the differential of a patient with acute paraparesis even in the absence of co-existing risk factors.

A Flexible and Vigilant Approach: The initial presenting information from EMS could have led to anchoring bias. A flexible approach led to new information, which led to interative testing.

Iterative physical examination. There are cases, as seen in this case report, where the physical examination was unreliable or even impossible. Iterative evaluations ultimately led to appropriate imaging and accurate diagnosis.

Iterative testing: In the case presented, the radiologist reported a finding as being present on a prior CXR; however, given the patient’s clinical presentation, further imaging studies were necessary.

Laparoscopic abdominopelvic exploration is the gold standard of diagnosis, but is not performed until patients experience severe symptoms. This review analyzes the levels of circulating micro-RNAs (miRNAs) (I) for diagnosis of endometriosis (O) in women diagnosed with endometriosis (P) compared to laparoscopic exploration (C).

This literature review examines hoarding disorder with a close lens. This is a diagnosis that is new to licensed professionals across the helping professions. This training will allow participants to better understand what it means to be diagnosed with hoarding disorder, assessments that aid in detecting severity, best practices that are continually emerging, and the impact it can have on clients, their loved ones, and the community. Introduction
This study assessed the utility of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) neurofilament light (NfL) in Alzheimer's disease (AD) diagnosis, its association with amyloid and tau pathology, as well as its potential to predict brain atrophy, cognition, and amyloid accumulation.
Methods
CSF NfL concentration was measured in 221 participants from the Australian Imaging, Biomarkers & Lifestyle Flagship Study of Ageing (AIBL).
Results
CSF NfL levels as well as NfL/amyloid β (Aβ42) were significantly elevated in AD compared to healthy controls (HC; P < .001), and in mild cognitive impairment (MCI) compared to HC (P = .008 NfL; P< .001 NfL/Aβ42). CSF NfL and NfL/Aβ42 differentiated AD from HC with an area under the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve (AUC) of 0.84 and 0.90, respectively. CSF NfL and NfL/Aβ42 predicted cortical amyloid load, brain atrophy, and cognition.
Discussion
CSF NfL is a biomarker of neurodegeneration, correlating with cognitive impairment and brain neuropathology.

Overall, approximately 95 percent of reported cases of vector-borne disease were associated with ticks, making these the most medically important group of arthropods in the United States.¹ Despite the prevalence of tick-borne infections, the process for the diagnosis of this condition is not well studied.
