Studies involving molecular genetic characterization of silkworms are quite limited. Therefore, with this study, pure and hybrid silkworm lines raised in Turkey was characterized for the first time by microsatellite DNA markers. Samples were collected from 7 different silkworm lines, of which the pure lines were obtained from the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry in Bursa and the hybrid ones from Silkworm Cocoon Association of Turkey (Kozabirlik). This study was carried out to investigate the species identification and enumeration of some pathogenic microorganisms before and after feeding the full ration contaminated by predatory starling bird herds on 5 different days in the dairy cattle farm in Aksaray. At the end of the study, the average number of E.coli obtained from the feed samples taken before the arrival of starlings was 6.46 log cfu/g, while the number of E.coli obtained from the feed taken after starling birds flocked to the feed was found as 6.80 log cfu/g. The aim of the study was to assess the ability of horses to learn how to open feeder boxes in a direction associated with the time of day. The study involved 10 horses. The first stage of the study consisted in learning how to complete the task. The second stage involved the test and was followed by a control stage. In this study, it was aimed to determine the effect of microbial inoculants and molasses on the quality and in vitro digestibility of the silages ensiled from the cultivation of different proportions of ryegrass-Hungarian vetch mixtures grown in Central Anatolian conditions. Pathological and immunohistochemical changes in livers were investigated in monocrotaline-treated rats. Eighty adult-male Wistar rats were distributed in 5 groups, each containing 16 animals according to monocrotaline dose (Group I: 50 mg/kg, Group II: 100 mg/kg, Group III: 150 mg/kg, and Group IV: 200 mg/kg). The control group was administered with physiological saline. Half of the animals in each group were euthanized at the 18th hour while the remaining half at the 6th week postinoculation. Background: Osteoarthritis frequently affects multiple joints through the lower limbs. This study sought to examine the incidence of foot pain in subjects undergoing total knee arthroplasty (TKA) and determine if foot symptoms improved following surgery.

Methods: Six hundred ten subjects undergoing TKA completed patient-reported outcome measures preoperatively, and at 6 and/or 12 months after surgery including the incidence and severity of foot or ankle pain, Knee Injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome Scores (KOOS) Joint Replacement, Oxford Knee Scores (OKS), EQ5D, and satisfaction.

Objective

This study aimed to explore Australian women’s current knowledge, perspectives and attitudes about breast density (BD); and information needs to inform effective evidence-based communication strategies.

Methods

Fourteen online focus group sessions with a total of 78 women in New South Wales and Queensland, Australia aged 40–74 years without a personal diagnosis of breast cancer were conducted. Audio-recorded data was transcribed and analysed thematically.

Nursing burnout is directly linked to patient outcomes, nurse retention, and the resilience of our nurses. A recent innovative technology to prevent burnout teaches mindfulness through the utilization of smartphone applications. Background: Shared governance programs are a popular way to improve Registered Nurse (RN) engagement and retention. These programs are notoriously difficult to garner and maintain participation. However, successful shared governance can improve patient outcomes, patient satisfaction and RN engagement.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to measure palliative care knowledge, attitudes, perceived empowerment, and familiarity of the Supportive Palliative Care Indicators Tool (SPICT) among critical care nurses and advanced practice providers (APPs) before and after viewing a web-based educational video on an adult medicine intensive care unit (MICU).

Sugar-sweetened beverage (SSB) consumption has a positive correlation with increased rates of childhood obesity. Current research shows a deficit in culturally sensitive methods to reduce SSB consumption in the pediatric Latino population.

Background and Significance: Breast cancer is the 2nd leading cause of cancer death among women worldwide. Mammography is a screening approach used in the detection of breast cancer and proven to help reduce mortality. Only 72.8% of eligible American women have been screened for breast cancer within the past 2 years.
