The purpose of this study is to evaluate the relationship between holistic admissions criteria and occupational therapy program ranking. We used a retrospective cross-sectional cohort descriptive study design of occupational therapy programs in the United States to understand whether top performing programs employ holistic admissions criteria. Aortic dissection represents a critical emergency characterized by the cleavage of aortic wall layers, creating a deceptive false lumen. Associated with high mortality rates, prompt diagnosis and intervention are needed to ensure survival.

A 63-year-old male with no significant medical history presented to the emergency with two days of worsening mid-sternal chest pain. Upon presentation, he was hemodynamically stable. Purpose: The purpose of this article is to describe the use of flipped classroom method in a forced remote Exercise Physiology course during the COVID-19 pandemic and assess the students’ motivation and learning throughout the course. METHODS: Undergraduate students received recorded asynchronous activities each week that should be done before a weekly synchronous meeting. During synchronous and asynchronous activities, strategies to emphasize students’ active participation were applied. Streptococcus canis is an uncommon human pathogen, but documented infections have been mostly associated with exposure to dogs. There are only five documented cases of endocarditis secondary to streptococcus canis, with all cases except one documenting exposure to a canine. We present a 74-year-old male with a history of Type 2 diabetes mellitus, CKD 3, moderate aortic stenosis and remote exposure to agent orange, who was found to have Streptococcus canis native valve endocarditis without exposure to a dog. To the best of our knowledge this case is the first case of endocarditis linked to feline exposure.

This work effectively developed and validated a stability-indicating RP-HPLC technique for precisely measuring dexlansoprazole in bulk samples. An Acetonitrile and 0.5 mmol Ammonium Acetate (pH 4.5) gradient mobile phase, a 1 ml/min flow rate, and detection at 283 nm were all part of the method's unique chromatographic conditions. A Kromasil C18 column was also used. Dexlansoprazole had a 5.14-minute retention period, and the technique showed a linear range of 5–30 mg/ml with a strong correlation value of 0.997. Washington’S Ride Program: A Model Providing Rural Practitioners, Mary K. Smith Dds, Mba

The Journal of the Michigan Dental Association

The University of Washington School of Dentistry Regional Initiatives in Dental Education (RIDE) program is an award-winning dental education model that trains dentists to practice in rural and underserved areas. Its first cohort of students graduated in 2012. To date, there have been 96 graduates. More than 80% of RIDE graduates in practice are in rural and underserved areas, including those seeking specialty training. RIDE is successful because it collaborates with multiple universities, community health centers, local dental associations, and community leaders in the area where the students are located.
