Technical And Physical Match Demands Of A Ncaa Division I Soccer Goalkeeper, Joanne Spalding
Technical And Physical Match Demands Of A Ncaa Division I Soccer Goalkeeper, Joanne Spalding
Electronic Theses and Dissertations
The purpose of this study was to provide a better understanding of the goalkeeper position in order to prepare goalkeepers for competition. The objectives of this study were to characterize the technical and physical demands of an NCAA Division I collegiate goalkeeper over three seasons and examine trends from season to season. Count and frequency for each definition were analyzed. Results show that although the goalkeeper’s technical demands were characterized by engaging in play without action and being in the goal area, the gradually increased use of the feet over three season’s hints on the importance of skills performed with …
The Effects Of Chronic Alcohol Consumption On Ovarian Function/ Morphology, Destiny Roberts
The Effects Of Chronic Alcohol Consumption On Ovarian Function/ Morphology, Destiny Roberts
Undergraduate Honors Theses
Chronic alcohol (ethanol) consumption has been known to affect the major organs of the body and particularly the liver. However, the effects of chronic ethanol consumption on the female reproductive system remain relatively unstudied. A convenient way to study these effects is by analyzing laboratory mice that have been fed an ethanol diet for an extended period of time and comparing them to control mice. In this study, female mice were separated into control and ethanol fed groups. The mice were placed on their specified diets and observed over the course of six weeks. The mice were fed and weighed …

Comeback Of Appalachian Female Stroke Survivors: The Interrelationships Of Cognition, Function, Self-Concept, Interpersonal, And Social Relationships., Patricia Mckenzie Vanhook
Electronic Theses and Dissertations
The purpose of this descriptive correlational study was to examine the comeback phase of the Trajectory of Chronic Illness Management for Appalachian women stroke survivors. This study predicted comeback as a relationship between physical healing, biographical reengagement, and psychological coming to terms that was mediated by rehabilitation.
The concepts were evaluated through investigation of function and cognitive abilities, self-assessment of recovery, health rating, ability to control life, relationship changes, physical and mental health, and limitations of activities due to poor physical or mental health. Data were collected using, the Stroke Impact Scale (3.0) (Duncan, Bode, Lia, & Perera, 2003), the …
Auditory Filters Measured At Neighboring Center Frequencies, Marc A. Fagelson, C. A. Champlin
Auditory Filters Measured At Neighboring Center Frequencies, Marc A. Fagelson, C. A. Champlin

Auditory filters were derived in 20 normal-hearing human listeners at center frequencies (CFs) of 913, 1095, 3651, and 4382 Hz using the roex (p,r) method. Comparisons were made between slopes of the filters' skirts at the neighboring CFs with filter output levels of 45 and 70 dB. The same comparisons were made with regard to filter equivalent rectangular bandwidth (ERB). In the 1000-Hz region, the low-frequency slopes (Pl) of filters centered at 913 and 1095 Hz were significantly correlated at both stimulus levels, while the high-frequency slopes (Pu) were similar only at the high test level. In the 4000-Hz region, …
