Modeling Extrusion Processing Of Aquaculture Feed Incorporating Distillers Grains, Nehru Chevanan, Kasiviswanathan Muthukumarappan, Kurt A. Rosentrater, James L. Julson

Three ingredient blends were prepared containing 20%, 30% and 40% DDGS and the net protein adjusted to 28% were formulated and extruded in a single screw extruder. Modeling of the viscosity of dough in the barrel by restricting the reference viscosity has shown shear thinning behavior, and the R2 value obtained between the apparent viscosity calculated by the concentric cylinder method, and viscosity calculated by the model equation, was found to be over 0.99. Increasing the DDGS content had resulted in higher mass flow rate and decreased absolute pressure inside the die. The torque requirement at 40% DDGS was ...

Changing Maine, 1960-2010: Teaching Guide, Richard Barringer, New England Environmental Finance Center

Maine History & Policy Development

We have come into a new world, a new time – a new historical era, if you will. This new era, like previous eras in Maine history, will require of us new ways of thinking, new ways of understanding, new ways of organizing ourselves as a community of people, if the values and culture we share and cherish are to endure and flourish.

An Analysis Of The Iowan Angler's Fishing License Renewal Decision, Ryan R. French Jan 2006

An Analysis Of The Iowan Angler's Fishing License Renewal Decision, Ryan R. French

Retrospective Theses and Dissertations

The number of annual fishing licenses sold in Iowa has been in decline for two decades and has limited the amount of funds available to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources for fisheries management. The Iowa DNR is focused on reversing this trend through targeted marketing and efficient management of fishing resources. An analysis of Iowa anglers is performed with these goals in mind using past surveys and current customer data. The product of this analysis is a model which predicts whether a past customer will renew their license in the upcoming year. A logit model is developed using license ...
