This work results from the confluence of two programs of investigation and, naturally, from a common interest in ecological problems. The Institute of Forrestry and Plant Biology had utilized, besides other methods, the analysis of principle components of correlation matrices for the study of vegetation and have at their disposal adequate programs for the treatment of a great volume of data.
