New Species And New Record In Agaricus Subg. Minores From India, Entaj Tarafder, Arun Kumar Dutta, Krishnendu Acharya

Two new species of Agaricus, namely A. midnapurensis and A. purpureosquamulosus, belonging to A. subg. Minores, are proposed here as new to science based on specimens collected in West Bengal, India. Agaricus midnapurensis is distinguished by its medium-sized basidiomata with a pileus covered by greyish brown to brown or dark brown squamules, ellipsoid to broadly ellipsoid basidiospores with a mean value of 7.3 × 5.4 µm, and broadly clavate to pyriform cheilocystidia, 22-28 × 10-14 µm. Agaricus purpureosquamulosus has purplish coloured pileus squamules, ellipsoid to elongate basidiospores with a mean value of 7.3 × 4.5 µm, and clavate cheilocystidia measuring …

New Records From Artabel Lakes Nature Park (Gümüşhane/Turkey) To The Freshwater Algal Flora Of Turkey, Bülent Şahi̇n, Bülent Akar

Six newly recorded taxa, Chlamydomonas pertusa Chodat, Coenochloris pyrenoidosa Korshikov, Coenocystis tapasteana Komárek, Katagnymene accurata Geitler, Phormidium stagninum Anagnostidis, and Scytonema coactile Montagne ex Bornet & Flahault, were described from epipelic, epilithic, and epiphytic materials of the 17 high mountain lakes and a pond in Artabel Lakes Nature Park. The morphology of all species was examined by light microscopy. In this paper, the morphology, ecology, and distribution of these species are discussed. Photos of the species are also provided.

This study provides an identification key to the species of Riccia in Turkey and also gives information about detailed morphological and anatomic characters, reproductive forms, detailed photos of Riccia species and their spores, ecological preferences, and distribution patterns in the Mediterranean, Europe, and Southwest Asia. The number of Riccia taxa in Turkey has reached 27 including R. atromarginata, reported for the first time from Turkey in this study. Additionally, the presence of R. gougetiana var. armatissima and R. trabutiana in Turkey is confirmed here. Astragalus rubrostriatus Bunge and Astragalus qoturensis Podlech, belonging to Astragalus sect. Hymenostegis Bunge, are recorded here for the first time from Turkey. In addition, Astragalus chrysostachys Boiss. is excluded from the list of Turkish species of Astragalus.

Studies On New Fungal Records For Turkish Mycota From Trabzon, Ertuğrul Sesli̇

Fungal specimens were collected and photographed between 2010 and 2013 around Trabzon. Ecological observations were made in the field, and the structures of pileipellis, basidia, spores, marginal cells, and hyphae were illuminated in the laboratory. Some dried specimens were compared with British collections in the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. Finally, Cortinarius parevernius Rob. Henry, Cortinarius tortuosus (Fr.) Fr., Entoloma euchroum (Pers.) Donk, Entoloma lividoalbum (Kühner & Romagn.) Kubicka, Hygrophoropsis morganii (Peck) H.E.Bigelow, Phaeocollybia festiva (Fr.) R.Heim, and Tricholoma viridilutescens M.M.Moser were recorded for the first time for the Turkish Mycota. The new records were illustrated, briefly described, and discussed.

Bryophyte Flora Of Erciyes Mountain In Turkey, With 6 Bryophyte Records From The Country, Recep Kara, Tülay Ezer, Merve Can Gözcü, Şadi̇ye Gül Bozdoğan

In this study, the bryophyte flora of Erciyes Mountain was investigated. In total, 244 taxa were found in this area. Of these, 9 families, 9 genera, and 11 taxa belong to liverworts and 25 families, 72 genera, and 233 taxa belong to mosses. According to Henderson's grid-square system, 138 bryophyte taxa for the B8 square are new records. Among them, Leiocolea heterocolpos (Thed. ex Hartm.) H.Buch., Scapania obscura (Arn. & Jens.) Schiffn., Schistidium pulchrum H.H.Blom., Tortula lingulata Lindb., Bryum knowltonii Barnes, and Brachythecium capillaceum (F.Weber & D.Mohr) Giacom are new records for the bryophyte flora of Turkey. Herniaria caucasica Rupr., Rumex cyprius Murb., and Potentilla multifida L. are given as new records for Turkey. The specimens were collected from Van, Mersin, and Kayseri provinces. These new records were compared with similar species in Turkey. Descriptions, distributions, and figures of these new records are given.

Two new records of Orobanche L. have been added to the 37 species of this genus previously reported from Turkey. Orobanche owerini (Beck) Beck is reported as a new record to flora of Turkey for the first time, and the existence of O. reticulata Wall. that was mentioned as a doubtful record for Turkey has been confirmed. Macro- and micromorphology of the taxa are discussed, geographical distributions in Turkey are mapped, and details of their habitat, ecology, and taxonomic remarks of the studied taxa are provided.

Echinops ritrodes Bunge, E. gaillardotii Boiss., E. adenocaulos Boiss., E. chardinii Boiss. & Buhse, and E. tenuisectus Rech.f. were recorded for the first time in Turkey. The taxa are described and illustrated. Geographical distributions of the taxa are also mapped, and IUCN threat categories of the populations are discussed.

Allium giganteum Regel (Liliaceae), Grammosciadium scabridum Boiss., and Ferulago angulata (Schlecht.) Boiss. subsp. carduchorum (Boiss. & Hausskn.) D.F.Chamb. (Apiaceae) are reported as new records for the Turkish flora. They have been identified using the collected specimens and Flora Iranica. The taxa's diagnostic characters, habitats, photos, and a distribution map of the new records in Turkey are given.

Allium saxatile M.Bieb. was collected from the north-western corner of European Turkey (Demirköy, Kırklareli) during the field survey of the "Yıldız Mountain Biosphere Project". It has been reported as a new record for the Turkish flora. A description based on the collected specimens, photographs of its habitat and flowering plants, map of the distribution area, and its karyotype are given.

Samples were collected from different habitats (plankton, epipelon, epiphyton, and epilithon) at 20 stations situated on rivers and dam systems in the Tigris Basin between December 2004 and November 2005. Twenty-five new records were identified for the Turkish freshwater algae. They belong to the following divisions: 3 to Cyanobacteria, 1 to Rhodophya, 1 to Euglenozoa, 2 to Myzozoa, 1 to Ochrophyta, 9 to Chlorophyta, and 8 to Charophyta.

Macrofungi Of Nakhchivan (Azerbaijan) Autonomous Republic, Hami̇de Seyi̇dova, Elşad Hüseyi̇n

In this article, an attempt has been made to establish the species composition of the macrofungi of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan. A total of 73 species of macromycetes were registered, 2 belonging to the division Ascomycota and 71 to the division Basidiomycota. The trophic structure for the fungal species is as follows: 22 lignicolous and 51 terricolous. Fifty-three species were added to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic mycobiota; 8 species of them were added to the mycobiota of Azerbaijan as new records.

The diagnostic characters of M. nuda are described and its habitat and conservation status are indicated. Besides, it is illustrated, and a distribution map is presented. Twenty-four new records for freshwater algae of Turkey were determined in a study conducted from February 2007 to January 2009 in Çaygören Reservoir, Balıkesir, Turkey. Among these, 3 were Cyanobacteria, 3 Euglenophyta, 15 Chlorophyta, 1 Charophyta, 1 Heterokontophyta, and 1 was Dinophyta.

Allium dentiferum Webb & Berthel and Allium dodecanesii Karavokyrou & Tzanoudak were collected during a floristic study of South Anatolia. A. dodecanesii is reported as a new record for the flora of Turkey. Although collected earlier by Aznavour, Bothmer, and Brullo, specimens of A. dentiferum were misinterpreted and the species was thus not recorded for the flora of Turkey. We provide drawings and photographs of the species, and maps of their distribution in Turkey.

Scorzonera ketzkhovelii Grossh. (Asteraceae) was recently collected from Yusufeli, Artvin (north-east Anatolia) and it has been reported as a new species record for the flora of Turkey. It is described and illustrated. In addition, its karyological features and pollen morphology are given.

Algae samples were collected from important dam lakes and running waters of the Lower Euphrates Basin. Eighteen new records of Turkish freshwater algae were identified. Among these new records, 5 belong to Cyanophyta, 10 to Chlorophyta, 1 to Xanthophyta, and 2 to Bacillariophyta.

Aegilops juvenalis (Thell.) Eig (Poaceae) is recorded and vouchered for the first time from Turkey. This first vouchered wild record is confined to Ceylanpınar province in C8 Şanlıurfa. The diagnostic morphological characters discriminating it from of Aegilops crassa Boiss. are pointed out. Notes are presented on its ecology and phenology. A distribution map of this species is also given.
