In Chan Yuen Lan v See Fong Mun [2014] SGCA 36, the Singapore Court of Appeal had the opportunity to consider its approach towards ascertaining the parties’ beneficial interests under the common law. It took the opportunity to revist its earlier decision of Lau Siew Kim v Teo Guan Chye Terence [2008] 2 SLR(R) 108 and establish an approach for future cases. This Article analyzes the development and dissemination of environmentally sound technologies that can address climate change. Climate change poses catastrophic health and security risks on a global scale. Universities, individual innovators, private firms, civil society, governments, and the United Nations can unite in the common goal to address climate change. This Article recommends means by which legal, scientific, engineering, and a host of other public and private actors can bring environmentally sound innovation into widespread use to achieve sustainable development. In particular, universities can facilitate this collaboration by fostering global innovation and diffusion networks.

The tort of false imprisonment is one of the most severe forms of human rights violation, and this paper aims to define and to understand the concept of false imprisonment as a tort in India. It also seeks to know about the evolution of the notion of false imprisonment as a tort, with reference to Indian and foreign cases, and understand who and when can one be held liable for the tort of false imprisonment.
