This manuscript contains an initial history of the Akron Law School (1921-1959) the predecessor of the University of Akron School of Law.

The school was founded in 1921 as an evening school. This manuscript begins with a biographical sketch of the founding Dean, Judge Charles R. Grant. Grant was an underage Union soldier in the Civil War who participated in the capture of New Orleans and whose service was recognized by the U.S. Congress.
