Fire And Life Safety Analysis Of The Production Facility (Pf)- 870, Nolan Baker Dec 2017

Fire And Life Safety Analysis Of The Production Facility (Pf)- 870, Nolan Baker

Fire Protection Engineering: Culminating Experience Project Reports

The purpose of the fire and life-safety analysis was to perform a prescriptive-based and performance based analysis on the fire and life safety systems in the Production Facility (PF) at Sandia National Laboratories (SNL). The prescriptive-based analysis determined if the building met applicable code requirements for existing life safety systems. The performance-based analysis consisted of a series of fire scenarios to ensure the fire and life safety systems allowed adequate egress time for occupants in the event of a fire. The prescriptive-based analysis was based on the Life Safety Code (LSC) and the International Building Code (IBC). The occupancy of …

Acme Semiconductor Foundry- Fab Expansion- Fire Protection Engineering Analysis Report, Jacob Epstein

Fire Protection Engineering: Culminating Experience Project Reports

The ACME Semiconductor Foundry – Fab Expansion is a new four story addition to an existing four story foundry facility. The Fab Expansion is approximately 154,500 square feet in footprint area that is connected to an existing four-story Fab Building. This report has been prepared to identify the building’s fire protection and life safety features that must be provided in accordance with the applicable codes and standards. The ACME Semiconductor Fab Expansion will contain multiple separated uses and will be required to be constructed with Type I-B construction. Building Construction Documents are provided in Appendix A showing compliance with the …

Dci Data Center Building- Fire Protection Analysis, Bryan Hathaway Jun 2017

Dci Data Center Building- Fire Protection Analysis, Bryan Hathaway

Fire Protection Engineering: Culminating Experience Project Reports

A fire protection analysis utilizing prescriptive and performance based design was performed for the existing building (DCIB) located in Minnesota. A new tenant is investigating converting the DCIB from a building used for data center, to an office building which will utilize an open office concept.

A prescriptive analysis of the building was performed to determine the life safety, fire suppression, fire alarm and structural requirements to ensure compliance with current applicable codes and standards. The prescriptive requirements are outlined and reviewed in Section 1 through Section 5 of this analysis. Modifications to the DCIB are required to achieve the …

Recreation Center- Cal Poly- Fire And Life Safety Analysis, Hao Yan Jun 2017

Recreation Center- Cal Poly- Fire And Life Safety Analysis, Hao Yan

Fire Protection Engineering: Culminating Experience Project Reports

This report discusses the fire and life safety analysis of the existing fire protection features installed in the Recreation Center building on the California Polytechnic State University. The analysis is conducted using two different approaches, the prescriptive analysis of the building and the performance-based design analysis.

The prescriptive analysis approach will examine installed fire protection features and systems in accordance with the International Building Code, such as structural fire protection, water-based suppression system, alarm and detection system, egress system, smoke control, and fire safety management plan. The egress system failed when the old gym area was used as a fixed …

Fire And Safety Analysis Robert E. Kennedy Library, Marius Bjelde Andersen Mar 2017

Fire And Safety Analysis Robert E. Kennedy Library, Marius Bjelde Andersen

Fire Protection Engineering: Culminating Experience Project Reports

The Robert E. Kennedy Library is located on Cal Poly Campus. The Library is a five-story building with different occupancies which consists of library areas, offices, mechanical equipment and storage areas. The building has a total area of 178 702 ft². The original code of construction for the Library was the 1976 Uniform Building code (UBC). However, the fire and life safety analysis of the building in this report is performed using: Egress: NFPA 101 LSC 2015, Water based suppression: NFPA 13, Structural fire protection: 2015 IBC, Fire detection, alarm and communication systems: NFPA 72, Performance based design: NFPA 101 …

Building- Fire Protection Analysis Report, Chris Schwendiman Mar 2017

Building- Fire Protection Analysis Report, Chris Schwendiman

Fire Protection Engineering: Culminating Experience Project Reports

The building in XXX was constructed in XXX. It was designed using the International Building Code (IBC). This fire protection analysis report will be reviewing the building based on the 2015 edition of the IBC including several performance based fire scenarios involving the smoke exhaust system.

The passive system section highlights the physical construction of the building. The building is a business occupancy with three separate stories including a penthouse which is included in the third story. The building has adequate fire ratings for a Type II-B construction except for heavy timber columns within the commons of the building. It …
