Analysing The Impact Of Digital Photography Projects On Student Engagement And Performance In A Higher Education Engineering Discipline, Michael Gleeson
Analysing The Impact Of Digital Photography Projects On Student Engagement And Performance In A Higher Education Engineering Discipline, Michael Gleeson
Conference papers
Developing and implementing engaging activities aligned with the learning outcomes of a module within a higher education programme is essential to successful teaching practice in the 21st century. Substantial research evidence indicates that student engagement plays a pivotal role in the academic performance and success of the student. The aim of this research is to compare student performance after adopting an alternative pedagogic approach utilising digital photography as a tool to engage the student in an engineering discipline. The activity was designed to promote student engagement by integrating digital photography, replicating authentic construction professional practice and focusing on images …
Fire Analysis Of The Walter F. Dexter Building- Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, Jeff Jenkins
Fire Analysis Of The Walter F. Dexter Building- Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, Jeff Jenkins
Fire Protection Engineering: Culminating Experience Project Reports
The purpose of this report is to provide a fire analysis of the Walter F. Dexter Building on the California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo Campus. The report will detail egress analysis, notification systems, and building construction in a prescriptive approach. The report will also include a performance based analysis of the building with a designed fire scenario. This performance based analysis will show that in one of the most likely fire scenarios for the building, there is still ample time for the occupants to escape safely.
Fabrication And Characterization Of Edge-Emitting Semiconductor Lasers, Junyeob Song
Fabrication And Characterization Of Edge-Emitting Semiconductor Lasers, Junyeob Song
Graduate Theses - Physics and Optical Engineering
The semiconductor laser was invented in 1962, and has recently become ubiquitous in modern life. This thesis focuses on the development of a semiconductor laser fabricating process which utilizes semiconductor manufacturing technology in a cleanroom environment including photolithography, etching, deposition, and bonding processes. A photomask for patterning is designed, recipes of photolithography process and etching process are developed with experiments. This work gives how to develop the process of fabrication and determine the parameters for each processes. A series of semiconductor laser devices are then fabricated using the developed process and characterization is performed to assess device performance with industrial …
