A Study On The Students’ Perceptions Of The Applicability Of Lean Principles At Universities, Muhammad Jahan, Mark Doggett

Mark Doggett

Lean principles are well-established business management strategies, which are applied extensively in manufacturing and production industries to continuously improve value by reducing wastes. In recent years, the concept of lean has gone beyond the manufacturing industries and is being increasingly applied in different sectors, such as financial, healthcare, construction and various government sectors [1-3]. This paper investigated the applicability of lean principles at universities using the perceptions of undergraduate students at a higher education institution. The perceptions were collected over a period of two years as a part of class assignments and discussions for a Lean Manufacturing class. This junior ...

Medical Technology: Contexts and Content in Science and Technology is one of a series of documents envisioned to assist educators in improving and strengthening students’ knowledge in a specific area of science and technology. Its purpose is to build a basic understanding of medical technology using historical perspective, conceptual framework, and educational vignettes. It was designed for use by educators who have an interest in introducing medical technology as part of a science, technology, mathematics, or applied engineering curriculum. The Standards for Technological Literacy (STL) published by the International Technology Education Association (ITEA) described twenty content standards in technology for ...
