Optimization Of Human Interactions In The College Campus Model Via Simio Integration, Benjamin E. Chaback

Doctoral Dissertations and Master's Theses

College campuses are a significant part of life in some cities. Many students each year attend university, pursuing additional knowledge from faculty members. Both staff and faculty members rely on these students to have successful jobs and to ensure the university functions. Yet recently, more and more students are attending, leading to overcrowding, lower admission rates, and difficulty getting into good programs. Previous work exists on qualitative student affairs and quantitative retention data, yet little on using simulations to model this problem. This work aimed to (a) Determine the ability to successfully model human interactions/people flow on a college campus, …

The combat units, interaction modes, and combat environments in the subsystems are analyzed. The paper builds mathematical models to capture the collaborative interaction relationships between combat units, finally constructing a symbiotic model of complex combat systems. By the symbiosis principles and methods, quantitative analysis …

Modeling Of Amine-Based Co2 Capture Process, Zafar Safarovich Turakulov Dec 2023

Modeling Of Amine-Based Co2 Capture Process, Zafar Safarovich Turakulov

Chemical Technology, Control and Management

A significant factor influencing climate change is the release of carbon dioxide (CO2) into the atmosphere as a consequence of human activities such as the combustion of fossil fuels. Climate change can be slowed down by taking action to mitigate industrial-scale CO2 emissions. Currently, the most advanced technology for capturing CO2 from industrial flue gases is the post-combustion CO2 capture based on amine absorption. However, due to the high energy penalties of existing CO2 capture technologies and insufficient carbon markets, it is necessary to develop methods that compete with these technologies or minimize their …

Analyzing The Supply Chain Operation Of A Fast-Food Restaurant Using Simulation Modeling And Developing A Cost Estimation Optimization Model In The Disruption Period, Amit Kumar Saha

Open Access Theses & Dissertations

Supply chain operation performance is a much-discussed topic over the last decade which will lead to optimizing the resources required to provide the necessary level of customer service to a specific segment and improve customer service through increased product availability and reduced order cycle time. During disruption in supply chain, performance parameter changes, and the overall supply chain cost at each stage increases. External factors such as labor shortages, delayed and costly supplies, and decreased demand also contribute to this cost. This thesis work presents a research-focused analysis of a small pizza shop, under circumstances that include the loss of …

Modeling And Simulation Of Ultra Supercritical Unit Using A Composite Weighted Human Learning Network, Chuanliang Cheng, Chen Peng, Deliang Zeng, Tengfei Zhang

Journal of System Simulation

Abstract: Intermediate point temperature is an important parameter in ultra supercritical (USC) unit. However, due to strong nonlinearity, it is difficult to determine the form and coefficients of the corresponding model by using traditional methods. In order to get a better control effect, a novel composite weighted human learning optimization network (CWHLON) is proposed to tackle the above-mentioned problems. Though the real-time dynamic linear model, the characteristics of the object are accurately simulated. In the simulation experiment, CWHLON is compared with the traditional recursive least squares and other three meta heuristic methods. The data show that the proposed method improves …

Effect Of Ultra-High Pulse Frequency On The Resolution In The Electrochemical Deposition Of Nickel, Abishek Balsamy Kamaraj, Natalie Reed, Murali Sundaram

Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering Presentations And Conference Materials

Using localized electrochemical deposition (LECD) as a mask-less direct writing methodology, metal shapes are printed. The electrochemical double-layer capacitance at ultra-high frequencies is hypothesized to cause a localized deposition and the effect of pulse frequency on the current density is modeled to predict the deposition resolution and rate of deposition. Experimental results confirm that the deposition resolution and efficiency of the LECD process increase with the increase of pulse frequency. Deposition resolution 80% smaller than the tool diameter is feasible in the LECD of nickel used with a ø 250 μm tool at 1 MHz pulsed power.

Journal of System Simulation

Abstract: Prediction is an essential part of the epidemic prevention and control system, and it is of great significance to accurately establish a dynamic model of epidemiological evolution. The existing epidemiological modeling methods rarely consider the social division of labor of different groups. Based on the heterogeneous uniform mixing theory, the subgroup adjacency matrix is used to represent the contact relationship between individuals, and a time-lapse dynamic model of epidemic spread and evolution is established. The simulation results show that …
