Crude Oil Prices Forecasting: Time Series Vs. Svr Models, Xin James He
Journal of International Technology and Information Management
This research explores the weekly crude oil price data from U.S. Energy Information Administration over the time period 2009 - 2017 to test the forecasting accuracy by comparing time series models such as simple exponential smoothing (SES), moving average (MA), and autoregressive integrated moving average (ARIMA) against machine learning support vector regression (SVR) models. The main purpose of this research is to determine which model provides the best forecasting results for crude oil prices in light of the importance of crude oil price forecasting and its implications to the economy. While SVR is often considered the best forecasting model in …

Global market is a field where all industries strive to provide personalized product for every customer demand in order to compete with their competitors in the business battlefield. Product personalization varies with customer to customer which increases the product variety. When the product size variability is vast, producing packages for every individual product is not only difficult but also increases the design time, production time, total manufacturing cost and inventory cost. For the present scenario, Industrial packages does not opt customizability for variable product sizes. Customized package for personalized product is achievable only by redesigning the existing distribution package with …
An Optimal Airline Revenue Management Seat Pricing Plan Model, Constantine M. Koursaris, James W. Marion Jr.
An Optimal Airline Revenue Management Seat Pricing Plan Model, Constantine M. Koursaris, James W. Marion Jr.
International Journal of Aviation, Aeronautics, and Aerospace
The goal of an airline is to sell tickets at the highest fare possible, thus yielding maximum profit for the stakeholders. As airline seat pricing is divided into different fare classes, a revenue management system is created and maintained to identify opportunity costs where the airline may sell an optimum number of available seats in both discounted fare and full fare classes. Ideally, under perfect conditions, the airline will sell all available seats at full capacity for each leg of a trip. Under non-ideal conditions for the airline, not all available seats may sell at either full fare or discounted …

Clustering Method Based On Graph Data Model And Reliability Detection, Yanyun Cheng, Huisong Bian, Changsheng Bian
Journal of System Simulation
Abstract: For the data in feature space, traditional clustering algorithm can take clustering analysis directly. High-dimensional spatial data cannot achieve intuitive and effective graphical visualization of clustering results in 2D plane. Graph data can clearly reflect the similarity relationship between objects. According to the distance of the data objects, the feature space data are modeled as graph data by iteration. Cluster analysis based on modularity is carried out on the modeling graph data. The two-dimensional visualization of non-spherical-shape distribution data cluster and result is achieved. The concept of credibility of the clustering result is proposed, and a method is proposed, …

Considering the ship dimensions, the channel boundary constraint function is added. The experimental results show that on the premises of satisfying the constraint of ship dimensions, the planned route …
