Methods Of Prospecting And Estimating Ore Bodies Of The Wisconsin Zinc And Lead District, Guy Henry Cox Jan 1914

Methods Of Prospecting And Estimating Ore Bodies Of The Wisconsin Zinc And Lead District, Guy Henry Cox

Professional Degree Theses

"The stratigraphy and structure of the Wisconsin Zinc and Lead District are remarkably simple; so simple in fact that one is liable to under estimate their importance in relation to the ore deposits. But four formations are of interest to one operating in this district, all of which are Ordovician in age and which in ascending order are, - the St. Peter sandstone, the Platteville limestone, the Galena dolomite, and the Maquoketa shale"--Geology - Stratigraphy - General, page 1.

Report On Bellshazar Mining Property, Matthew Vincent Quinn

Professional Degree Theses

"The property of the Belshazzar Gold Mine is located in the Granite Creek Mining District of Boise County, State of Idaho. This district forms the northern boundary of the famous Boise Basin which has produced over two hundred million in placer gold. The Balshazzar property is about three and a half miles from the town of Quartzburg and about four miles from the town of Placerville. A good wagon road connects the property with both towns"--Description of the District, page 3.

Design Of A 250 Ton Mill, For Cyanidation Of A Cobalt Silver Ore, Carlos Enrique Elmore Y Guerra Jan 1914

Design Of A 250 Ton Mill, For Cyanidation Of A Cobalt Silver Ore, Carlos Enrique Elmore Y Guerra

Professional Degree Theses

"My aim in the designing of this 250-Ton Mill for cyanidation of a Cobalt Silver Ore, has been to select the simplest process of extraction in connection with the Labratory [sic] Experiments which showed the highest per cent of extraction. Care has been taken in the selection of the machinery, and the location of it in the Mill is such, that if a greater capacity is required, that could be done without interfering with the machines in the Mill in question"--Introduction, page 1.

Bituminous Coal Mining In Northern Missouri, True Walter Blake Jan 1914

Bituminous Coal Mining In Northern Missouri, True Walter Blake

Professional Degree Theses

"Missouri was the first state west of the Mississippi to produce a commercial output of coal and, although in later years some of the western states have produced a larger yield, still the Missouri mines bid air to hold their present standing as there are hundreds of acres of virgin coal land in this state that will be able to be worked profitably after the eastern coal operators have worked out their thicker veins of coal. The coal is won from the grasp of Mother Earth by either room-and-pillar or longwall systems in the larger mines, each method being employed …

Amalgamation And Refining Of High Grade Silver Ores Containing Arsenic And Antimony, Edwin Bryant Thornhill, Robert Emmett Dye Jan 1914

Amalgamation And Refining Of High Grade Silver Ores Containing Arsenic And Antimony, Edwin Bryant Thornhill, Robert Emmett Dye

Professional Degree Theses

"The advantage of shipping refined silver bullion over the shipment of concentrate to a smelter has been apparent to mine operators in this district for years but not ill recently was the project undertaken by the Buffalo Mine Limited, Cobalt, Ont., Canada. Early in 1912 experiments were conducted by H. G. S. Anderson with this end in view. The results of these experiments led to the erection of an amalgamation plant, the design and construction of which was carried out by Mr. Anderson...It is not the hope in this paper to set forth facts that are entirely new as similar …
