Control Of High-Temperature Static And Transient Thermomechanical Behavior Of Simo Ductile Iron By Al Alloying, Semen Naumovich Lekakh, Catherine E. Johnson, L. Godlewski, Mei Li
Materials Science and Engineering Faculty Research & Creative Works
Silicon and molybdenum (SiMo) ductile iron is commonly used for exhaust manifolds because these components experience thermal cycling in oxidizing environment, which requires resistance to fatigue during transient thermomechanical loads. Previous studies have demonstrated that alloying elements, such as Al, to SiMo ductile iron reduces the amount of surface degradation during static high-temperature exposure. However, deterioration of sphericity of the graphite nodules and a decrease in ductility could affect the tendency of cracking during thermal cycling. In this article, the effect of Al alloying on static and transient thermomechanical behavior of SiMo ductile iron was investigated to optimize the amount …
Laboratory Concentration Of A Lead-Zinc-Fluorspar Ore From Southern Illinois, Shiou-Chuan Sun
Laboratory Concentration Of A Lead-Zinc-Fluorspar Ore From Southern Illinois, Shiou-Chuan Sun
Masters Theses
"The purpose of this investigation was to ascertain the feasibility of preparing marketable products from a rather complex sulphide-fluorspar ore"--Object, page 2. "The ore was examined exhaustively by chemical, microscopic, and mineralogical methods of analysis. After a thorough knowledge of the physical characteristics of the ore had been obtained, flotation concentration tests were made to separate the sulfide minerals from the fluorspar and to attempt to prepare lead-zinc and fluorspar concentrates of marketable grade"--Scope of Work Done, page 2.
A Study To Determine The Best Method Of Treatment For A Certain Gold-Silver Ore, Deane Dwight Harris, Duane Montgomery Kline
A Study To Determine The Best Method Of Treatment For A Certain Gold-Silver Ore, Deane Dwight Harris, Duane Montgomery Kline
Professional Degree Theses
"The purpose of this thesis is to find a suitable method for extracting the gold and the silver from an amalgamation tailing"--Purpose, page 1.
Russell's Lixiviation Process For Silver Ores, Frank L. Tyrrell
Russell's Lixiviation Process For Silver Ores, Frank L. Tyrrell
Professional Degree Theses
"It has long been known that there are many ores worked in which a large per cent of silver and gold are continually lost, either in tailings or slimes. As far back as 1848 Dr. Percy suggested the extraction of silver from argentiferous ores, by its conversion into the chloride. The chloride was treated with sodium hyposulphite"--Russell's Process, page 1.
The Cyanide Process For Gold, John C. Reid
The Cyanide Process For Gold, John C. Reid
Bachelors Theses
"Since the discovery of Cyanogen in the latter part of the 18th century records of many experiments are in existence, showing, that at various periods, exhaustive researches have been made, in which the point at issue was to investigate that property which now constitutes the foundation of what is known to Metallurgical Science of today as The Cyanide Process, vis. The solvent power of alkali cyanides on gold & silver"--page 2.
