"The purpose of this investigation was to determine the effect of surface conditions on the heat transfer for nucleate pool boiling from flat horizontal surfaces. Experiments were carried out using Refrigerant-11 at atmospheric pressure as the test fluid with Inconel-600 as the heater material. The heat transfer coefficient was determined for mirror finished, chemically etched, glass beaded and sandpaper roughened heater surfaces over heat flux ranging for 0 to 18000 BTU/HR SQ FT.
