A Probabilistic Software Framework For Scalable Data Storage And Integrity Check, Sisi Xiong Aug 2017

A Probabilistic Software Framework For Scalable Data Storage And Integrity Check, Sisi Xiong

Doctoral Dissertations

Data has overwhelmed the digital world in terms of volume, variety and velocity. Data- intensive applications are facing unprecedented challenges. On the other hand, computation resources, such as memory, suffer from shortage comparing to data scale. However, in certain applications, it is a must to process large amount of data in a time efficient manner. Probabilistic approaches are compromises between these three perspectives: large amount of data, limited computation resources and high time efficiency, in the sense that those approaches cannot guarantee 100% correctness, their error rates, however, are predictable and adjustable depending on available computation resources and time constraints. …

One-To-Cloud One-Time Pad Data Encryption: Introducing Virtual Prototyping With Pspice, Paul Tobin, Lee Tobin, Roberto Gandia Blanquer Dr, Michael Mckeever, Jonathan Blackledge Jun 2017

One-To-Cloud One-Time Pad Data Encryption: Introducing Virtual Prototyping With Pspice, Paul Tobin, Lee Tobin, Roberto Gandia Blanquer Dr, Michael Mckeever, Jonathan Blackledge

Conference papers

In this paper, we examine the design and application of a one-time pad encryption system for protecting data stored in the Cloud. Personalising security using a one-time pad generator at the client-end protects data from break-ins, side-channel attacks and backdoors in public encryption algorithms. The one-time pad binary sequences were obtained from modified analogue chaos oscillators initiated by noise and encoded client data locally. Specific ``one-to-Cloud'' storage applications returned control back to the end user but without the key distribution problem normally associated with one-time pad encryption. Development of the prototype was aided by ``Virtual Prototyping'' in the latest version …

Cpu Db Data Visualization, Ruchita Patel, Marek Moreno Jun 2017

Cpu Db Data Visualization, Ruchita Patel, Marek Moreno

Computer Engineering

Given the CPU database from Stanford, we wanted to create something that portrayed the data in a more visually pleasing way. The CPU database website wanted a web page that would allow users to create graphs based on the processor data from the database. The web page would allow users to select different data from the database and create the graphs they wanted to gain insight into the decades of processor data.

Android Mobile Application For Hospital Executives, Vihitha Nalagatla Mar 2017

Android Mobile Application For Hospital Executives, Vihitha Nalagatla

Electronic Theses, Projects, and Dissertations

Hospitals are the largest and most complex organizations where health care is provided. Safe and effective patient care services in hospitals depend on the efficient decisions made by hospital executives. The main task of hospital executives is to ensure the hospital can provide high quality patient care and services. “Android Mobile Application For Hospital Executives” is an Android application used for displaying hospital performance metrics on a daily basis. This application allows hospital executives to review and monitor hospital operational data with ease of access and in a portable manner. Thus, reducing the effort of the hospital executives to perform …

Generating A Normalized Database Using Class Normalization, Daniel Sushil Sudhindaran Jan 2017

Generating A Normalized Database Using Class Normalization, Daniel Sushil Sudhindaran

UNF Graduate Theses and Dissertations

Relational databases are the most popular databases used by enterprise applications to store persistent data to this day. It gives a lot of flexibility and efficiency. A process called database normalization helps make sure that the database is free from redundancies and update anomalies. In a Database-First approach to software development, the database is designed first, and then an Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) tool is used to generate the programming classes (data layer) to interact with the database. Finally, the business logic code is written to interact with the data layer to persist the business data to the database. However, in …

Design And Implementation Of An Improved Android Application For Bard Shuttle Services, Chance O'Neihl Wren Jan 2017

Design And Implementation Of An Improved Android Application For Bard Shuttle Services, Chance O'Neihl Wren

Senior Projects Spring 2017

With the growing population of Bard College, the need for the college’s shuttle system continues to grow. As a result, enabling the Bard community to quickly and easily access the shuttle schedules and times, has also become more important in the daily of life of Bard College's inhabitants. Although Bard College has a mobile application for Android and iPhone mobile devices alike, there was a growing demand for a new improved shuttle application for Android mobile devices. This project seeks to improve the functionality, user friendliness, and availability of shuttle schedules to the Bard Community, in the form of a …
