This project creates an iOS mobile app geared specifically toward the students of California Polytechnic State University. The app aims to provide the ability for users to discover new restaurants to checkout in the central coast area. These restaurants can be filtered to the user’s choosing based on the price of food, rating the restaurant has received, distance away from the user, and type of food. Surf conditions change rapidly day to day and location to location, which forces modern day surfers to utilize online forecasts and obtain a detailed knowledge of the places they want to surf. To ease this pain, we are developing SublimeSurf, an iOS application that will keep track of the current surf conditions and allow users to rate aspects of the surf. We plan to use this rating data in combination with surf forecast data available online to notify a user when conditions look favorable, based on their previous ratings. With busy lives, people sometimes forget to take breaks for multiple hours at a time. The purpose of this project is to remind the user to move around every hour if they have not already. To do so, stand will be a light weight fitness tracker that will detect the number of steps made within an hour. If the step count, dependent on goals, is not met then a vibration motor will gently remind them to take a break and walk. Slaps is a fun way to share new songs with friends. Users can simply select songs from their personal library of music, select a short sample of the song to share, and then select which friends to share it with. If a user loves a song that he/she receives, they can link directly to iTunes through the app to download the full song.
