Evaluation Of Ndot’S Sediment Barrier Practices Using Performance Data, Michael A. Perez, Wesley N. Donald, J. Blake Whitman, Brian G. Roche
Nebraska Department of Transportation: Research Reports
To protect waterways adjacent to construction projects with disturbed land, a 50 ft (15 m) vegetated buffer or equivalent sediment controls are required. However, there is little guidance on the effectiveness of vegetated buffers in removing sediment or how sediment barriers can aid shorter buffers or replace buffers. A modeling methodology was developed and used to determine the performance of 11,664 50 ft (15 m) vegetated buffer configurations with Nebraska conditions; sediment capture averaged 92.6% and ranged from 18.5% to 99.5%. To determine the performance of Nebraska Department of Transportation standard and modified sediment barrier installations, a large-scale testing methodology …
The Perceptions And Effects Of Nutrition On Worker Health And Productivity In Construction, Matthew Scott Howell
The Perceptions And Effects Of Nutrition On Worker Health And Productivity In Construction, Matthew Scott Howell
Construction Management
Construction workers often have poor dietary habits due to poor nutrition education, lack of nutritious food options, and social stigma. These habits often lead to health problems like obesity, diabetes, and heart disease which can decrease productivity and put workers at risk of on-site injury. This preliminary study examines how nutrition impacts worker safety and productivity. A survey was distributed to six students involved in construction work for Cal Poly’s Residential Construction course. This survey identified their eating habits and inhibitors for healthy eating. Two meals, one with high nutritional value and one with low nutritional value, were given to …
Study Of Performance Of Vertical Drainage Well Construction From Polymer Materials, I.A. Akhmedov, Z.K. Mirkhasilova
Study Of Performance Of Vertical Drainage Well Construction From Polymer Materials, I.A. Akhmedov, Z.K. Mirkhasilova
Irrigation and Melioration
The article is devoted to the reconstruction and construction of vertical drainage wells. The use of vertical drainage wells is characterized by a decrease in the level of groundwater. The article presents data and typical regions of the use of vertical drainage wells. Also presented are mechanical, physical and chemical methods of well cleaning in practice. The information on the design and construction of vertical drainage wells is described. The analysis of corrosion resistance of vertical drainage well materials and their service life has been carried out. It is known that polymeric materials are resistant to corrosive environments. Using filters made …
An Innovative Seeder For Sowing Non-Loose Seeds Of Saxaul And Cherkez, E.T. Farmonov
An Innovative Seeder For Sowing Non-Loose Seeds Of Saxaul And Cherkez, E.T. Farmonov
Irrigation and Melioration
The main reasons for the absence of a seeder for mechanized sowing of non-loose seeds of fodder plants in deserts are analyzed in the article. The author has developed a technology for sowing non-loose seeds (saxaul and cherkez), which prevents clogging, crushing and breakage in the seeder hopper, and provides for uniform and stable sowing at a set rate and shallow depth over the entire field area without reducing the biological germination. An innovative seeder with a universal sowing unit is recommended. Field tests of the innovative seeder with the proposed universal sowing unit were conducted in February 2020, as …

Education Institutions Creation Of Partnerships, Iwasan D. Kejawa Ed.D
Department of Educational Administration: Faculty Publications
This issue is embracing the creation of partnerships with establishments worldwide for the provisions of life embodiments to graduates. At moment, there may be lack of friendship or partnership with establishments to create incentives for newly graduates of so many colleges and universities (Hirsh & Weber, 1999). Partnership with external companies will surely bring enormous grants to the colleges and universities and it will also encourage friendly establishments to provide incentives and perks to colleges, universities and alumni. It may be concluded that the advantages of creating rapport with external congruences is the comraderies and also compromises that will be …
