Dielectric And Piezoelectric Properties Of Textured Lead-Free Na0.5bi0.5tio3-Based Ceramics, Nannan Dong, Xiaoyi Gao, Fangquan Xia, Hanxing Liu, Hua Hao, Shujun Zhang

Australian Institute for Innovative Materials - Papers

This work provides a comparative study of the dielectric and piezoelectric properties of randomly oriented and textured 0.88Na 0.5 Bi 0.5 TiO 3 -0.08K 0.5 Bi 0.5 TiO 3 -0.04BaTiO 3 (88NBT) ceramics. Textured ceramics were fabricated by template grain growth (TGG) method using NaNbO 3 (NN) for templates. For textured ceramics with 4 wt% NN templates, a Lotgering factor of 96% and piezoelectric coefficient d 33 of 185 pC/N were obtained. Compared to the randomly oriented ceramics, textured ceramics show lower strain hysteresis (H = 7.6%), higher unipolar strain of 0.041% with corresponding large signal piezoelectric coefficient d 33* …

Perovskite R3c Phase Agcuf3: Multiple Dirac Cones, 100% Spin Polarization And Its Thermodynamic Properties, Minquan Kuang, Tingzhou Li, Zhenxiang Cheng, Houari Khachai, Rabah Khenata, Tie Yang, Tingting Lin, Xiaotian Wang

Australian Institute for Innovative Materials - Papers

Very recently, experimentally synthesized R3c phase LaCuO3 was studied by Zhang, Jiao, Kou, Liao & Du [J. Mater. Chem. C (2018), 6, 6132-6137], and they found that this material exhibits multiple Dirac cones in its non-spin-polarized electronic structure. Motivated by this study, the focus here is on a new R3c phase material, AgCuF3, which has a combination of multiple Dirac cones and 100% spin polarization properties. Compared to the non-spin-polarized system LaCuO3, the spin-polarized Dirac behavior in AgCuF3 is intrinsic. The effects of on-site Coulomb interaction, uniform strain and spin-orbit coupling were added to examine the stability of its multiple …

Investigation Of Engineering Properties Of Normal And High Strength Fly Ash Based Geopolymer And Alkali-Activated Slag Concrete Compared To Ordinary Portland Cement Concrete, Nabeel Farhan, M Neaz Sheikh, Muhammad N. S Hadi Jan 2019

Investigation Of Engineering Properties Of Normal And High Strength Fly Ash Based Geopolymer And Alkali-Activated Slag Concrete Compared To Ordinary Portland Cement Concrete, Nabeel Farhan, M Neaz Sheikh, Muhammad N. S Hadi

Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences - Papers: Part B

Fly ash-based geopolymer (FAGP) and alkali-activated slag (AAS) concrete are produced by mixing alkaline solutions with aluminosilicate materials. As the FAGP and AAS concrete are free of Portland cement, they have a low carbon footprint and consume low energy during the production process. This paper compares the engineering properties of normal strength and high strength FAGP and AAS concrete with OPC concrete. The engineering properties considered in this study included workability, dry density, ultrasonic pulse velocity (UPV), compressive strength, indirect tensile strength, flexural strength, direct tensile strength, and stress-strain behaviour in compression and direct tension. Microstructural observations using scanning electronic …

Selective Atomic-Level Etching On Short S-Glass Fibres To Control Interfacial Properties For Restorative Dental Composites, Kiho Cho, Guannan Wang, Raju Raju, Jian Fang, Ginu Rajan, Martina Stenzel, Paul Farrar, Gangadhara B. Prusty Jan 2019

Selective Atomic-Level Etching On Short S-Glass Fibres To Control Interfacial Properties For Restorative Dental Composites, Kiho Cho, Guannan Wang, Raju Raju, Jian Fang, Ginu Rajan, Martina Stenzel, Paul Farrar, Gangadhara B. Prusty

Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences - Papers: Part B

Interfacial bonding between fibre and matrix is most critical to obtain enhanced mechanical properties of the resulting composites. Here we present a new surface tailoring method of selective wet etching and organosilicon monomers (3-(Trimethoxysilyl) propyl methacrylate, TMSPMA) deposition process on the short S-Glass fibre as a reinforcing material, resulting in increased mechanical retention and strong chemical bonding between glass fibres and polymer resin (a mixture of triethylene glycol dimethacrylate (TEGDMA) and urethane dimethacrylate (UDMA) monomers). The effect of surface modification on fibre matrix interfacial strength was investigated through microdroplet tests. An S-Glass fibre treated with piranha solution (a mixture of …

Preparation And Physical Properties Of A Cr3al Filmwith A Do3structure, Weiqi Zhao, Xuefang Dai, X M. Zhang, Z Mo, Xiaotian Wang, G F. Chen, Zhenxiang Cheng, Guodong Liu

Australian Institute for Innovative Materials - Papers

A Cr3Al compound with a DO3 structure has previously been predicted to be nearly half metal and a promising spintronics material; however, its synthesis has not been reported. Here, a Cr3Al compound with a DO3 structure is successfully prepared in thin-film form by the magnetron sputtering method. It was found that the substrate temperature is crucial to the atomic ordering, thin-film density and lattice constant. The lattice constant varies with different substrate temperatures and is smaller than the theoretical equilibrium lattice constant. Theoretical investigations on the electronic structures and magnetic properties indicate that the Cr3Al compound with a DO3 structure …

Tungsten oxide is a versatile material with different applications. It has many polymorphs with varying performance in energy storage application. We report simple and facile way to synthesize four phases of tungsten oxide from same precursor materials only by changing the pH and temperature values. Monoclinic, hexagonal, orthorhombic and tetragonal phase obtained, were analyzed and tested for supercapacitor application. The electrochemical analysis of four phases indicates that the hexagonal phase is best-suited electrode material for supercapacitor. The hexagonal phase exhibits higher specific capacitance (377.5 Fg-1 at 2 mVs-1), higher surface capacitive contribution (75%), better stability and rate …
