The shape of the Fermi surface of topological nodal-ring semimetals at low carrier concentrations is characterized by the ring radius b/ℏvF. This peculiar topological property may not have a clear signature in measurable physical quantities. We demonstrate an accurate and definitive method to determine the radius of topological nodal-ring semimetals. Under a magnetic field along the ring axis, the axial magneto-optical response (σzz) has a giant peak. Laser dynamics have great potential for various applications, ranging from cryptography to microwave photonics and instrumentation. This letter presents a design for achieving high sensitive sensing and measurement using the dynamics of a laser diode (LD) with a dual external cavity. A comparative study has been carried out to assess the effect of rolling and annealing processes on ridging generation of ferritic stainless steels (FSSs) 430 and 430LR after tensile deformation. The results show that FSS 430LR has better ridging resistance owing tothe refinement of microstructure and crystallographic texture optimisation. A 30% reduction of ridging height can be achieved using FSS 430LR compared to FSS 430 after tension.Optimal reduction during cold rolling benefits the microstructural refinement and surface quality improvement of FSSs 430 and 430LR. This paper describes the experimental investigation and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations of the dispersion of CO2 following high-pressure dense phase CO2 pipeline failure. A full-scale burst test was carried out to simulate a CO2 pipeline failure in the real world. The atmospheric dispersion of the CO2 following the explosive release was measured. The selective leaching of zinc from three different basic oxygen steelmaking (BOS) filter cakes by butyric acid was investigated to compare the leaching behaviors of zinc and further to establish the correlation of the zinc leaching performances and the chemical compositions. The effects of acid concentration and the acid to solid (L/S) stoichiometric ratio were studied, with different optimal leaching conditions obtained. This article addresses the pseudo-tetragonal nature of the crystal lattice of martensite in carbon-containing steels. It is proposed that the periodic distortion of c-cube edges by the presence of carbon atoms is better reflected in the root-mean-square distortions of martensite lattice than by the value of doublet splitting of the corresponding X-ray reflections of the martensite crystal.

Superconducting Pair-Breaking Under Intense Sub-Gap Terahertz Radiation, Jie Tian, Jack Zuber, Sunchao Huang, C Zhang

We study the effect of a strong and low frequency (ω < Δ, the superconducting gap) electrical field on a superconducting state. It is found that the superconducting gap decreases with the field intensity and wavelength. The physical mechanism for this dependence is the multiphoton absorption by a superconducting electron. By constructing the state of a superconducting electron dressed by photons, we determined the dependence of the superconducting gap on E / ω and temperature. We show that the critical temperature is determined by the parameter E / ω which is distinct from that induced by the heating effect. The result is consistent with experimental findings. This result can be applied to study terahertz nonlinear superconducting metamaterials.

A large lake plays an important role in mitigating flood disasters in its nearby regions during the flooding period; however, the effect is limited, because most of its storage capacity becomes dead storage prior to the arrival of the flood wave. In current investigation, steady free convection of nanofluid has been presented in occurrence of magnetic field. Non-Darcy model was utilized to employ porous terms in momentum equations. Working fluid is H2O based nanofluid. Radiation effect has been reported for various shapes of nanoparticles. Impacts of shape factor, radiation parameter, magnetic force, buoyancy and shape impact on nanofluid treatment were demonstrated. Result demonstrated that maximum convective flow is observed for platelet shape. Darcy number produces more random patterns of isotherms.

In order to evaluate the surface quality of ferritic stainless steel (FSS) sheets tensile deformation, a crystal plasticity (CP) model, in which the constitutive laws were incorporated with the consideration of the heterogeneous distribution of the properties of grains, was established to analyse the effect of texture, grain sizes and initial surface roughness on the surface roughness evolution of FSS sheets. An explicit mapping is given from the space of general complex meromorphic functions to a space of special time-dependent solutions of the 1 + 2-dimensional nonlinear diffusion equation with diffusivity depending on concentration as D = 1/u. These solutions have constant-flux boundary conditions. Some simple examples are constructed, including that of a line source enclosed by a cylindrical barrier. This has direct application to electron diffusion in a laser-heated plasma.
