A Cr3Al compound with a DO3 structure has previously been predicted to be nearly half metal and a promising spintronics material; however, its synthesis has not been reported. Here, a Cr3Al compound with a DO3 structure is successfully prepared in thin-film form by the magnetron sputtering method. It was found that the substrate temperature is crucial to the atomic ordering, thin-film density and lattice constant. The lattice constant varies with different substrate temperatures and is smaller than the theoretical equilibrium lattice constant. This work provides a comparative study of the dielectric and piezoelectric properties of randomly oriented and textured 0.88Na 0.5 Bi 0.5 TiO 3 -0.08K 0.5 Bi 0.5 TiO 3 -0.04BaTiO 3 (88NBT) ceramics. Textured ceramics were fabricated by template grain growth (TGG) method using NaNbO 3 (NN) for templates. For textured ceramics with 4 wt% NN templates, a Lotgering factor of 96% and piezoelectric coefficient d 33 of 185 pC/N were obtained. Very recently, experimentally synthesized R3c phase LaCuO3 was studied by Zhang, Jiao, Kou, Liao & Du [J. Mater. Chem. C (2018), 6, 6132-6137], and they found that this material exhibits multiple Dirac cones in its non-spin-polarized electronic structure. Motivated by this study, the focus here is on a new R3c phase material, AgCuF3, which has a combination of multiple Dirac cones and 100% spin polarization properties. Compared to the non-spin-polarized system LaCuO3, the spin-polarized Dirac behavior in AgCuF3 is intrinsic.
