The architecture program at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, California, has a strong technology component (as part of the Polytechnic Mission of the University) over the years since itsinception in the 1960’s, that led to the establishment of the College of Architecture andEnvironmental Design. The paper presents an advanced structural integration collaboratory model that works with recent changes in the curriculum. The history of the program is important, since the curriculum has always had a very intensive architectural engineering (structural systems focus) sequence of courses.
