Spot Welding Low Carbon Steel, Leonardo Gutierrez May 1947

Spot Welding Low Carbon Steel, Leonardo Gutierrez

Electrical and Computer Engineering ETDs

This investigation of spot welding on low carbon steel was undertaken to study the quality of welds under different welding conditions. Low carbon steel is one of the most readily weldable materials of all metals and alloys used in resistance welding processes. Its metallurgical structure is such that fusion between separate pieces may be accomplished in a broad range of temperatures, so that precise control of welding conditions is not necessary for producing a spot weld. Because of this ease in securing a weld, more and more of the many low carbon steel products are being spot welded. This makes …

A Study And Analysis Of Pumice-Concrete Building Blocks, George Leon Server May 1947

A Study And Analysis Of Pumice-Concrete Building Blocks, George Leon Server

Civil Engineering ETDs

The increasing use of concrete building blocks employing lightweight volcanic aggregates has presented many problems. Questions are constantly arising regarding locations of suitable lightweight aggregates, properties of the various materials, properties of blocks with different proportions of cement, and methods of manufacturing.
