An Investigation Of The Combined Effects Of Gold Diffusion Temperatures And N-Type Epitaxial Material Resistivities Upon The Electrical Parameters Of A Silicon Beam-Lead Sealed-Junction Transistor, Anthony Thomas Napoli Jan 1969

An Investigation Of The Combined Effects Of Gold Diffusion Temperatures And N-Type Epitaxial Material Resistivities Upon The Electrical Parameters Of A Silicon Beam-Lead Sealed-Junction Transistor, Anthony Thomas Napoli

Theses and Dissertations

An investigation has been made to understand the effects of gold diffusion temperatures and different epitaxial resistivity values upon the electrical characteristics of a silicon beam-lead sealed-junction transistor whose design is similar to the transistor components presently being used in the fabrication of silicon integrated circuits.

Partition Of Load In Shingle Joints, Ulise C. Rivera Jan 1969

Partition Of Load In Shingle Joints, Ulise C. Rivera

Theses and Dissertations

This paper summarizes the results of tension tests of two large structural shingle joints of A572 steel. One joint was fastened with A325 bolts and the other with A502 Gr. 1 rivets. A theoretical analysis of the load partition is also described.

Welding Parameters And Their Effect Of Column Strength, Jacques Brozzetti Jan 1969

Welding Parameters And Their Effect Of Column Strength, Jacques Brozzetti

Theses and Dissertations

This thesis presents a study on the influence of different welding parameters on the magnitude and distribution of residual stresses in flame-cut plates 24' x 2' made of A36 steel. The residual stress diagrams obtained after complete sectioning and after slicing are related to the original conditions of fabrication and mnaufacturing.

Applications Of Gert To Quality Control, Eddie Chien-Hua Hsuan Jan 1969

Applications Of Gert To Quality Control, Eddie Chien-Hua Hsuan

Theses and Dissertations

In this thesis, the characteristics of various sampling plans and control charts are modeled by GERT. Most of the sampling models provide information about the probabilities of accepting and rejecting a lot, the expected number and variance of units passed until the lot is accepted as well as rejected. The control chart models are used to compute the expected number of points under control until an out of control condition occurs.

A Compressible And Incompressible Flow Analysis Of The Air-Lift Pump, Kenneth A. Schoeneck Jan 1969

A Compressible And Incompressible Flow Analysis Of The Air-Lift Pump, Kenneth A. Schoeneck

Theses and Dissertations

The operation of an air-lift pump, 14 ft. high and 2" in diameter, has been studied. The results show that a present theory based on incompressible flow and including the effects of friction and slip between the gas and liquid accurately predicts the performance characteristics of these devices in shallow submergence applications. Measurement of two-phase friction and slip have been made and correlations are presented.

Redesign Of A Water Table For Study Of Unsteady Flow In Turbines, Robert M. Ickes Jan 1969

Redesign Of A Water Table For Study Of Unsteady Flow In Turbines, Robert M. Ickes

Theses and Dissertations

The work undertaken in this thesis involved the improvement of existing equipment for the study of unsteady flow in gas and steam turbines through experiments carried out with a water analogue. some of the phenomena studied were pressure waves generated by the turbine blades as they pass the nozzles, vortices formed by the flow leaving the nozzles, and separation from the suction side of the blades.

Investigation Of Safety Stock In A Dynamic, Multi-Echelon Inventory System, James H. Palmer Jan 1969

Investigation Of Safety Stock In A Dynamic, Multi-Echelon Inventory System, James H. Palmer

Theses and Dissertations

This study was conducted for the purpose of evaluating various safety stock policies in a dynamic, multi-echelon inventory system. The study environment is set in a four level multi-echelon production system. Demands on the system are forecast over a twenty period planning horizon and are treated in the model as deterministic. Safety stock is required to protect against lead time variation which is assumed to be distributed in a Poisson manner. All costs are assumed known with the exception of stockout cost.

Proof Tests Of Two Slender-Web Welded Plate Girders, Paul J. Patterson Jan 1969

Proof Tests Of Two Slender-Web Welded Plate Girders, Paul J. Patterson

Theses and Dissertations

This report describes the testing of two full size slander web welded plate girders for the purpose of ascertaining the acceptability of proposed design recommendations for bridge girders under repeating loading.

A Heuristic Method For Locating A Warehouse Utilizing A Truck Dispatching Type Model, Robert W. Leaser Jan 1969

A Heuristic Method For Locating A Warehouse Utilizing A Truck Dispatching Type Model, Robert W. Leaser

Theses and Dissertations

This thesis is addressed to the truck dispatching problem of determining the best warehouse location from which to supply a given set of demand points in a truck dispatching manner.
