To Investigate The Effectiveness Of Computer Simulation Versus Laboratory Experience, And The Sequencing Of Instruction, In Teaching Logic Circuits , Anuradha Ashok Gokhale

Retrospective Theses and Dissertations

The study investigated the effectiveness of computer-based simulation versus laboratory experience, and the sequencing of instruction, in teaching logic circuits. The two independent variables in this study were: (1) method of instruction, a nominal variable with two categories (computer-based simulation and laboratory experience); and (2) sequencing of instruction, a nominal variable with two categories (reading following lab or simulation experience and reading prior to lab or simulation experience). The dependent variable was the posttest score;A 2 x 2 factorial design was used in this study. The data were analyzed using the analysis of variance procedure. It was found that ...

The Effectiveness Of Computer Simulation In Training Programmers For Computer Numerical Control Machining , Yen-Fei Hwang

Retrospective Theses and Dissertations

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of microcomputer simulation, and to compare the differences in skill mastery and in the need for a teacher's assistance among students using a microcomputer with a partner, using a microcomputer alone, and those who did not use a microcomputer simulator in learning CNC programming skills;A pretest-posttest control group design was used in this study. All of the students obtaining scores in pretest were taken out from the research to assure the homogeneity of the subjects;A total of ninety students was randomly selected from five classes in National ...

An Analysis Of The Importance Of Selected Applied Physics Concepts As Prerequisites To Training In Automotive Technology, Patrick Michael Mccleskey

Dissertations and Theses @ UNI

The purpose of this study has been to develop information that may be useful in the preparation of curriculums and materials dedicated to the remediation of applied physics knowledge and skill deficits demonstrated by entering automotive technology students. The problem was to identify and rank-order the importance of applied physics concepts within the mechanical, fluidal, electrical/electronic, thermal, and chemical domains that are foundational to training in automotive technology.

A questionnaire containing 77 concept statements with a corresponding graphic rating scale was administered via mailed correspondence to all 196 of California's full-time community college automotive instructors. Of these, 130 ...
