Raised surrounded by technology, social media, and pop culture influences, many students enter college far more connected electronically than their professors. Their thinking is digital and peer-related. How can academia harness the power of social media to create a classroom community of intellectual sharing? Learn to capture student tweets, then filter them into a simple, easy-to-read-and-share newspaper-esque website. Classroom discussion is guaranteed to be active, interesting, and full of (good) surprises. Participants will be given instructions on how to use Paper.li. This session will give participants easy-to-tailor lesson plans and ideas to use in their own classroom communities.
