In this study, the researcher endeavored to examine Morris County, New Jersey,middle school teacher and principal perspectives on the use of technology in their classrooms and schools. Specifically, this study examined teacher engagement, implementation and limitations related to the use of technology with middle school students.

This study used a mixed method approach to determine educator perspectives on technology use. As the world becomes increasingly globalized, education systems are striving to meet the needs of students. With globalization comes high amounts of migration, and some students may experience education in two or more countries. Early exposure and success in science, math, engineering, and technology (STEM) education are thought to be vehicles for entering high-status careers. Through interviews with U.S.-Mexico transnational students, this study uses a qualitative, text-analysis approach to understand students’ lived experiences and perceptions on STEM education between the U.S. and Mexico. Library and information science is a technologically intensive profession with a high percentage of women, unlike computer science and other male-dominated fields. On the occasion of the 2011 Association for Library and Information Science Education (ALISE) conference, this essay analyzes the theme “Competitiveness and Innovation” through a review of social psychology and science and technology studies literature. Both theme concepts have ramifications for library and information science (LIS) education. Librarianship and teaching are both professions that resist commodification because they rely on embodied labor and personal interaction. Using Text-To-Speech Reading Support For An Adult With Mild Aphasia And Cognitive Impairment, Judy Harvey, Karen Hux, Jeffry Snell

This single case study served to examine text-to-speech (TTS) effects on reading rate and comprehension in an individual with mild aphasia and cognitive impairment. Findings showed faster reading, given TTS presented at a normal speaking rate, but no significant comprehension changes. TTS may support reading in people with aphasia when time limitations exist.
